lasted 6 months.
I have only had these now for about two weeks now. Seem to be built well. I changed the shoe strings out to the no lace. (little tab you mash to get them to tighten) There stiff when new so mine are just starting to feel comfortable. I have steel plates in my left ankle so it was important that the shoes not be too high as not to rub my plates. I have walked in creeks with them here on the farm so they are waterproof, but i am an electrician by trade so the EH rating, and composite toe was mainly what I liked about these. I will give an update after I have had them a bit longer. If you like me your a bit leary of a lot of the reviews as you don't know if there real world reviews or someone just representing the company.update: 10-29-17 well the soles on the shoes finally gave out. Soles are not flopping. Was a bit disappointed in this fact seeing that I have other boots that are still going strong after years of use. I dont feel that I am overly hard on my shoes as 75% of the time i am working on the farm, so they are mainly worn on the fields. will be trying a different brand this time.

Shoes are nice but the water proof material does not allow your foot to breath.
The good news these shoes are true to size and after a week break in feel great. The bad news like others have stated my feet stink after working in them all day. Ok so you are thinking your feet probably always stink but they didn't before I wore these shoes. I have worn Gortex steel toed boots all my life and never have had this problem. The issue is in my opinion the membrane is not Gortex and the water proof membrane does not allow your foot bed to breathe like Gortex does. So your sweat has no where to go but in the socks. I like the fit and looks of these shoes but I would not buy them again unless they change the waterproof material.

They aren't terribly uncomfortable to wear
I've only had these boots for about 2 weeks now and I've only worn them 3 times to work. They aren't terribly uncomfortable to wear, I switched out the insoles for some nice ones and that helped a lot. But for some reason I can't figure out the right boot tends to bite into my ankle at the top when I move my foot a certain way. The left one is great, if they both felt like the left one I would have no issues. They only difference I can see on them is the shoelace ring on the right boot at the top is sticking out slightly while the left is flush with the shoe. It doesnt look like it would cause it to pinch my ankle like it does but i dont know what else it could be. Might be a manufacturing error and i got the one messed up pair. Other than that good quality, too bad I don't have 2 left feet though

One of my favorites
Great shoe for me. Comfortable like a sneaker but with a thick, protective sole and a safety toe. I have had some foot problems in the past such as stress fractures and plantar fasciaitus. Some shoes aggravate these old injuries when worn all day, but these were comfortable from day one. I really like the "mid" height of these. Taller that a shoe but not a boot. Tried some other brands but will be ordering another pair of these. The only reason they didn't get 5 star is I thought they should have lasted a little longer. However, unlike some other shoes they did not start hurting my feet even when the sole was worn smooth.

Great Work Shoe & Very Comfortable...
I wear a size 12 & had to return the 12 and replace them with a size 11.5. The 11.5 was perfect! I wear these shoes for my landscaping job. I was hoping they would be easier on my feet than the work boots I've been wearing {that continue to give me blisters on the bottom of my feet}. Day1... My feet felt great in these! No need for "breaking them in"... No blisters from them {thank goodness}... They are a lighter shoe than my previous work boots... I can't say enough good about these... Carhartt ~ you now have a faithful buyer for all my work shoe needs! These shoes are just what my feet needed. Comfortable work shoes are very important and they delivered!!! My feet thank you...

I really like them so I bought another pair for the day ...
I bought my first pair in 2014, this is my second pair. I really like them so I bought another pair for the day when I must give up my first pair which may be several more years. I don't wear them every day but when I do I do not baby them at all. They are lightweight, waterproof, and provide safety toe and electrical hazard protection. If they get muddy/dirty I just spray them down with 409 in the garage sink and scrub them up with a scrub brush and rinse them off in the sink, then set them on the garage floor to dry. Nice boots, especially for the price.

They are very comfortable
The most important item first, they are very comfortable, with the Aetrex Lynco insoles they are great. After 3 months of wearing 5 days a week in an outdoor garden center, these boots have held up. The laces show a slight fraying along the top two eyelets. After two months I started applying shoe goop to the heel area every two weeks because I noticed a slight wear.

Doing the job so far.
Still getting used to them, but so far so good. Fit is OK, toe room for me is OK. I was concerned because I broke a toe 20 yrs ago and that can make shoe fitting more challenging, but the extra wide width is fine. Taking a little more time to break in than I anticipated, but getting more comfortable each time. Overall, happy with purchase and Amazon price, which was $20 lower than anywhere else I could find.
