Planetary gear system for long life. Review: Avoid this one - Used a total of maybe one hour drill time in the year I've had it, then it failed. Gearbox went "crunch" and it stopped turning. Vane motor appears to be spinning, but you can't turn the chuck. No help from desertcart or manufacturer. Also nice brass and metal side handle keeps falling off no matter how tight you put it on.

Avoid this one
