this setup looks great, has plenty of storage
The reviews stated it was flimsy, which I will not dispute. The dartboard surround is made of fiberboard which is as flimsy as it gets. The cabinet is made of particle board, again cheap. However, this setup looks great, has plenty of storage, and the dart board is excellent with tons of gaming options. It was very inexpensive (get what you pay for), and it is lots of fun for family and friends. If you need a commercial cabinet, this is not it. You're looking in a much higher price range. The assembly was not difficult as long as you watch the subtle hints in the pictorials (hole on backboard, this side up, etc.). It has good volume and it is adjustable. The darts are also much better than those cheap plastic darts you play with in bars. My only modification was adding an $8.00 LED light to point down at the board because there isn't much light where I put it. I was going to get a laser line emitter, but where I put the dartboard lines up with the grout line in the tile, so there was no need. I would suggest this for anyone that wants to improve their dart game skills, has idle time to pass, or enjoys hosting parties where people participate in friendly competition.

So-so quality. Should be better. Plan on making improvements.
Update - lowering to one star. Spent A LOT of time and money to make this cabinet more stable and appear to be of a bit better quality. Brackets, leveling feet, more brackets, alignment. It's better but still mediocre and embarrasing. Dartboard seems just okay (a LOT of bounce-outs) but the cabinet is over-priced JUNK. Dart board cost $194 on Amazon so you're paying about $170 for the cabinet. That's a lot of money for an under-engineered cabinet. Flimsy half-inch thick particle board construction. Tedious assembly. No leveling feet. Plan on spending some more time and money to beef-up the cabinetry with some large L-brackets and some leveling feet etc. A few of the pre-drilled holes did not line up as they should have. Okay, I get it. It's heavy and shipping is free but I would rather pay a bit more and get a quality cabinet. Does not come with lighting for the dart board so you'll probably want to add that. On the plus side the assembly instructions are pretty good and the various parts are well-labelled. Dart board itself is annoying in that it does not save previous user settings even if you keep the wall transformer plugged-in. Each time you turn power on the annoying Heckler feature is turned on by default (and there's no LED to show if it's off or on at any time either). Volume level always defaults to "Hi." Comes with unimaginably low quality set of six darts. The threaded plastic dart tips barely stay in the terribly machined brass barrels. Very poor quality control. Would be better to supply no darts rather than this embarrassment. In ended up spending about $150 extra Dollars (and a lot of time) to get a respectable looking and operating dart board... L-brackets, leveling feet, cabinet board lighting and laser toe-line, power transformers for both of these and a couple of sets of decent quality darts. Now that I have done all this I like it.

Great bang for the buck!
The dart board is great. My only issue so far is I have not figured out how to back up a dart, or darts, if someone throws out of turn. I’m not sure you can, I’m still researching. As for the cabinet, it’s fine for the price. I added Viper’s dart cabinet lights and Viper’s laser toe line. The set up works great. You’re paying $200 for the dart board and $200 for the cabinet. Don’t expect solid oak, or even pine, in a $200 cabinet. It’s fine for the price and has a lot of storage. I highly recommend a bracket be installed from the cabinet to a wall so the cabinet cannot tip when darts are being removed. Assembly is straight forward..

Cheap cabinet but dart board is cool.
Cabinet is very cheap and flimsy. Front door is warped. Finish around the Dart board chipped. Dart board is pretty cool.

Love this dartboard! Tons of fun!
The Arachnid 800 is a great value and provides excellent quality and years of fun! Now, this cabinet is another story. Once assembled the aesthetics are very pleasing and works well in any décor. But, due to the fact it's simply particleboard with pressed on mahogany-look vinyl...it's not very sturdy. The real issues is how the Arachnid board fits in the cabinet. It works but it's nearly impossible to keep the board firmly in place while playing. If you don't have some mechanical ability don't buy this cabinet. You should and really need to be able to shore up the back of the cabinet to provide firm and solid attachment of the board. The board is supposed to hang from 2 srews that are attached to the inside of 2 other pieces of particle board that attach lengthwise on the back of the cabinet. What I did place shims between the back side of the dartboard and the front of the particle board pieces. This help tighten up the slack and made the board much less "bouncy". Next, I attached a 1"x4" board lengthwise to the back of the cabinet directly behind the bottom section of the dartboard (nothing goes behind that otherwise). This provided much more support behind the board when pressing the player change button or any of the buttons for that matter. You'll see what I mean if you buy this cabinet. Lastly, using the included hardware I bolted the top of the cabinet into a stud in the wall to keep the cabinet from getting tippy when pulling darts. All of that has made the cabinet much more sturdy thus making the board much more secure and helps eliminate bounce-outs when playing. Cons: Cheap cabinet made of particleboard. But for a little more than $300 plus the board...when others might cost $1000. Can't go wrong. Pros: Cabinet looks nice and provides plenty of storage for darts and darts accessories. Should work well in nearly any décor.

To get better quality darts / heavier like 19-20
I purchased this dart board with cabinet and it works great, the cabinet has shelves to store darts. It is very sturdy, when it was put together very professionally. I've had it for 3 years and we play all the time / it's so funny comments so it makes us laugh, when people come over. I have it next to my Bar in the Den. FYI: I did buy the better quality darts and added a rug in front of Cabinet. I also bought the light where you stand to throw darts. I think it's a good Brand Arachnid.

Nice addition to the game room
As with most everything you purchase today, the quality is just not up to old time standards. For the cost of this cabinet, it is nice. You could buy the board for about 100.00 and build your own rock solid cabinet but you will prbably be bumping the price and put alot of time in instead of playing. I did not have a difficult time putting it together. When assembled I looked for a quick way to help secure it to the wall without leaving permanent holes in case we decide to move it. Roll up gorilla tape around newspaper to the thickness required to set top of unit away from wall for plum (I have base board so the top sets out from wall a little). 2 things (dampen noise and easily moved). My family plays darts often and this board is great. Some like to be hekled and some do not. The bright led display is great, no more going to the board to find out what needs to be closed or what you have to hit to score. Nice top section of cabinet to store darts and tips. I wish there was an included light to shine on the board but picked one up at lowes that works great. There is a hole to run a cord out of the top predrilled for ac power ( had to make it a little bigger for cord to pass through). Do not just read the instructions and do. Think about the steps and what it has you do 2 or 3 steps latter. It will help you get a visual of what they really mean. I am happy with all processes in this purchase.

Dartboard good but cabinet is TERRIBLE!
Purchase a different dartboard! I take reviews into great account before I purchase something and this product needs to be reconfigured. The cabinet is flimsy, made of saw dust and is bound to fall apart if you can manage to put it together. The dartboard itself is great, I wish the manufacturer would take into account the main complaint and fix it. Not Worth the price at all!!!!
