Comfortable, sturdy, well-made, and a much-needed change up for the workout routine
I purchased this weighted vest (with shoulder pads) mainly to change up and increase the intensity of my cardio workouts which usually take place in the form of running/jogging. Having used the vest a number of times now, I'm quite happy that I purchased it. Comfort and fitment are critical to me. The vest molds well to my upper body and with a few adjustments on the side straps I find it to be pretty tolerable for running. I usually adjust it a time or two before beginning in order to dial-in just the right amount of "snugness," so it's not too tight so as to restrict my breathing, but also not too loose to bounce around while I pound the pavement. I have not had any issues whatsoever with the straps bothering my shoulders, albeit, this is only a 20-pound vest. It's comfortable enough during warmups and cool-downs that the vest is hardly noticeable to me. It's worth noting that it's been cold here, so I've been layering up with multiple shirts/sweatshirts, so that may provide a benefit in terms of the comfort of the shoulder straps. The materials and construction of the vest appear to be very robust. Time will tell, but based on what I see, this is a tough and rugged setup that is built to last. As far as the weights go, I was a little worried that since they are sand filled bags that they would be prone to failure and leaking, but they seem to be put together well enough. I've played around with them a bit and don't have any difficulty getting them out or back in to make adjustments. For what it is worth, and this is just my opinion based on what I am seeing, I think if you take the weight packs out, you want to keep them aside somewhere so they can hold their shape thereby making it easier to get them back into their compartments on the vest. For a touch over 40 bucks with the shoulder pads, I'm impressed with this vest. It bears the weight evenly and comfortably. I was looking as some vests with plates, but to me, for jogging, this type of vest seems like it affords the best fitment. Overall, this vest is a nice addition to workouts that were getting a bit stale, and at a price that seems pretty darn good. I really don't have anything bad to say about it, but if something changes in the future I will come back with an update. UPDATE 1/13/2024: Just wanted to pass along that after more than a year of regular use for jogging, this vest is still going strong and it shows virtually no signs of wear and tear. The vest, the weights - they all look perfectly fine and ready for more. The dimensions of this 20-pounder are perfect for me. The vest rides high on my abdomen/chest, and it does not bounce or flop around whatsoever. I can't speak to the other weight options, but in my opinion RUNmax nailed it pretty darn well with this 20 pound vest. However, there is one thing that irks me after a year of ownership, and that is the escalated price tag for this vest. I purchased my vest on December 13, 2022, for $40.46 (including tax). Here I am today updating this review on January 13, 2024, and the price has rocketed to $64.99, and that is without tax! I will repeat what I have already said - this is a great vest - tough, comfortable, and exceptionally designed. But, the new price of $64.99, well, I'm kind of without words for that.

A major upgrade in weighted vests.
This was the perfect upgrade to the previous weighted vest I was using. I went for the 60 pound version and may have overestimated how ready I was for it, but the 30 pound one I was using wasn't enough anymore. The ability to remove some of those weights allows me to ease into the full 60 pounds. It was definitely worth the money spent and the quality of the product and really effect for working up a sweat. Even with regular use I'm not seeing any real wear and tear. It's easy to adjust, a comfortable fit, and the shoulder pads ad a layer of comfort. It even has a drink holder for my Celsius! I LOVE THIS PRODUCT.

Great vest. Easy weight adjustability. Velcro could be upgraded
Item purchased: adjustable 40lb vest with shoulder pads. It comes with 10 4lb weight bags. I have enjoyed the vest for the past few weeks. I can definitely feel a difference in my training. I am able to reduce the time on a treadmill/stairclimber yet get a much better workout. I really like the weight adjustability. I would buy again. Reduced 1 star for velcro and pocket Uses: outdoor walking, some running, treadmill, stairclimber. So far I've used 16lbs and 20lbs. I never weigh myself, I figure if my clothes are fitting well then who cares what the scale says. However, in this case I wanted to know how accurate the weight is in the vest. I determined that vest with 4 bags is 19lbs and with 5 bags is 23lbs. So the vest itself is 3 lbs. Cleaning: some reviews have noted a smell. Well that's what a washing is for. I wash mine after every 4-5 uses. No issues. The first time I washed it I washed it alone just in case any black dye came off. I put it in the dryer and then hang it over a chair. Breathing: Walking: when fitting the velcro strap I recommend taking in a full breath, hold it and then strap it down. Running: same as above except after strapping it do it just a little bit more. When running it can bounce a little but not bad. If you over tighten it is a bit constricting to breathe when running. Velcro: not the best. Each time I make sure to pat it down firmly. This could be upgraded. This is the reason for 4 stars 5 stars. I have NOT used the water bottle holder. Weight placement: the vest has 5 pockets in front and 5 in the rear. I messed around with weight placement to figure out my personal best Center of Gravity. This is my personal preference: 4 bags = 3 in back and 1 in front; 5 bags = 3 in back and 2 in front. If you have access to to a treadmill with an adjustable incline I'd recommend using that first to figure our how it effects you on a incline as opposed to on a flat surface. Pocket in front: not much to speak of here. I have an iPhone 16pro in an apple style case. It barely fits in the pocket. Don't plan on placing anything more than your phone in the pocket. Or a key with an ID card and no phone. Hopefully you have an Apple Watch or Google pay on you watch in the event you need to buy anything while your out. The pocket if difficult to access when using the vest. Basically place it in and once it's there forget about accessing it. Plan on using voice commands to do change music, answer phone calls, text someone, etc. My wife tried it a few times (5ft2"). It was too big for her and didn't fit quite right. Too much overlap in the waist band. The lower quality velcro wouldn't keep it snug. We purchased a different brand with 12lbs for her that more like a back pack style but isn't adjustable. She's happier. which course means I'm happier. ;)

20lb vest
Functional but a little bulky. Like the pockets and phone holder. Very nice!

We have a winner! Perfect for walking, biking, rollerblading and other low impact activities.
This vest is very well made. I bought the 40lb version. Constructed of denim or denim-like material, strong stitching, strong velcro. Came with the weights inserted already, so that was nice. This thing is no joke, and it looks like you're wearing something that could detonate. So I highly advise you don't wear this in a highly populated area or near any airports etc, with the way things are these days. Aside from that, I already love this vest, and I just got it today. Glad I invested in the shoulder pads too. It will not only help you get in shape, but will strengthen your traps too. And for the love of God people, do NOT run with this thing on! You will kill your joints, ligaments, cartilage etc. Weighted vests are meant for brisk walking and other low-impact exercises. I could definitely see how it can be easily worn while rollerblading or biking. As for the value, this thing is a STEAL. Who cares if the weights are iron ore grain. That is what keeps this product affordable. I cannot think of a better device to train with. I think I'm going to mainly do my walking around dusk, less people around = less weird looks haha. A little advice here, make sure you have supportive and cushioning sneakers and/or insoles to absorb the shock of each step. One more tip, always have an equal amount of weight in the front of the vest as you do in the back. Otherwise it will pull to the heavier side and become uncomfortable. I highly recommend this vest for those who are serious about getting in shape.

Great Addition to my Cardio
I usually put it on after a day at my desk job when I go out to get my 10k steps in. For reference, I’m 5’1” with a short torso and I have DDs. I got the 20lbs vest. The vest is in no way uncomfortable and it stops at my belly button. I got it with the comfort straps which I think give it some additional height so it doesn’t sit lower on my waist which I like. I don’t really use the phone holder for my phone - I use it more for my keys since I don’t like having my keys swinging when I’m walking / jogging. The water bottle holder also comes in handy. The weight of the vest is proportional all around as well. It didn’t have any kind of weird smell which was nice. She’s a cute vest ngl.

Half your weight is 0.5× earth's gravity...
I got this quick, well packaged and came with that new clean smell. I bought the 50lb predecessor to this vest without the bottle holder and I loved that vest greatly, this one is a shorter vest than that of the other vest of the same maker. This definitely erases the slight pinch one gets when wearing the weighted vest and a buckled powerlifting belt. Should make movement easier since it sits higher on the torso than the longer version. The shoulder straps are always a good call especially with 60lbs of excess weight. I find that my mobility under 60lbs of extra weight rather therapeutic. I have had the longer version for almost 10 years so I am eager to test the longevity of this version with an extra 10lbs to boot compared to my 50lbs longer version which is so used and worn that sand is coming out of the threaded slots for the weighted sand bags for the vest. Overall great product, definitely recommend for those training to beat Goku... or at least killing or definitely Yamcha.

Thanks RunMax: I bought this vest because of osteoporosis diagnosis. I'm 85 and loving it.
Thanks RunMax. I am so thrilled I found exactly what I need to help me overcome severe osteoporosis recently diagnosed in my hips and lower spine. I have learned that it is possible to improve and even reverse bone loss if I do the right things. Wearing a weighted vest is a very important part of succeeding. This is a really high quality vest, strong material with four weight pockets on front and back. I chose the 20lb vest. The weights (2 1/2 lbs. each) were wrapped separately, and slipping them into the pockets is easy. The Velcro is strong, and holds every part in place without budging. I am 85, weigh 132, 5'6", and the vest fits just right, with the bottom of the vest resting exactly at my waist line. I'm glad I bought the shoulder pads too, as I don't have any trouble with scratches by the material and the weight. I like how the long, wide attached belts wrap over each other allowing a snug fit around the chest and waist, holding it nicely in place all over. I saw other vests for a lot more money, but this pro version is top notch. I highly recommend it. I've worked up to 7 1/2 lb. weights, (plus the vest is 2 lbs.) walking one hour each for the last two days. I have to wait at least a day in between at this time, but I anticipate growing stronger and more motivated as I progress. Thanks RunMax. I love it. 6/21/19 - I've learned if I pull the waist belts tight, tight - the vest is lifted up off my shoulders and the vest rests on my hip bones targeting my weak areas, the hips and lumbar spine.. it feels so much better not feeling the weight on my shoulders. I also put more weights in the back to help with my posture as well.

Amazing for the price.
Can't speak to the longevity of this vest yet as I just got it but I gotta say I'm very impressed with the quality and build, especially considering the price compared to other weight vests on Amazon.

Good vest for the price
I'm 5'10" and 200lbs and the vest fits me fine. I bought the 20lb version without shoulder pads and I'm finding it pretty comfortable so far. I only wear it about 10 minutes at a time to overload pull ups. The straps are not digging into my shoulders and the velcro fasteners on each side allow me to keep the vest as snug as I need.

A great in-vest-ment hahaha
Love this an addition to my workouts. Velcro stays secure. Great option for weight removal and addition. For the price, it does the trick!
