Very loud, works as expected, and works with Hubitat
I bought a couple of these WH55 water leak sensors to pair up with my Hubitat home automation system. A couple of weeks ago my disposal rusted through and water poured out under my sink. This water leak sensor starting blaring and saved me from potentially severe water damage since I was able to react quickly, clean up the water that leaked out, and catch any remaining water coming out. I bought another one to put under my bathroom sink after that incident :)

Works well to detect leaks and uses AAA batteries
Overall, I'm quite happy with this sensor, as it works quite well to detect leaks. It has a small siren that makes noise to get my attention, which is good. It also syncs up with my GW1000 hub so that I get a text message and email every time the alarm goes off.The best part about this is that it uses AAA batteries. Older water leak sensors that I have on my water heater and dishwasher use expensive button cell lithium batteries that are difficult to source. This sensor just uses AAA batteries--which I have a pile of! We'll see how long the batteries last, but hopefully it will be at least a year. This sensor has a sensitivity setting. I've got mine sitting behind a toilet to check for leaks in the water supply line or tank. Since it is in the bathroom, I had to set sensitivity to low or the humidity in the room would trip the sensor.

Good Features
Easy to connect to station, rename for location, and add alert email in settings. 1 is in laundry room and the other in kitchen below sink/dishwasher area. Tested them in a flat dish with a tiny bit of water and they worked great.

Your early warning system that will save you considerably more than you paid for it!
This review evaluates the “WH55 Wireless Water Leak Detection Sensor” made by ECOWITT.The product was shipped with no excessive or wasteful packaging. What’s in the box: one (1) WH55 wireless water leak detection sensor, and an owner’s manual.I will preface this review by saying that anyone that has had a burst hot water tank, a failed sump pump, a burst pipe, or a leaking valve – know the heartache and damage those events can create. I have had all those events happen to me at different points in my life so I’ve lived it. I recently purchased an Ecowitt WittBoy weather station that supports a multitude of add-on sensors, this leak detection sensor being one of them. Any early warning device that can quickly detect such an event before it spirals out of control will save you hundreds or thousands of dollars; needless to say, I was eager to try this unit out.First impressions: At first I was surprised how small the sensor was, about half the size of a package of cigarettes; but don’t let its small size fool you, this unit outperforms its size. The overall quality of the meter looks very good, with a durable hard plastic ABS casing. A splashproof compartment is located on top that opens to load two “AAA” batteries (not included, lithium recommended). It is imperative to note that this is not a standalone sensor; you need an Ecowitt monitoring hub. The set-up was easy: install two new batteries, open the Ecowitt APP that you set up with your monitoring hub, and add the WH55 sensor. Within a minute the sensor calibrates and sends real-time data back to you via your monitoring hub/APP. You can adjust the sensitivity of the sensor from LOW (factory setting) to HIGH via a dip switch in the battery compartment. Each hub gateway supports up to four (4) leak sensors each must be set to a separate channel via a dip switch. The entire unit is IP44 rated which is often referred to as "splash proof" and protects from objects greater than 1 millimeter in size and water spray from any direction.I tested the unit by wetting my finger slightly and running it over the bottom of the sensor; the unit emitted an ear-piercing siren and I instantly got a warning on my ECOWITT APP.In order to determine long-term meter durability and accuracy, I intend to monitor this product over the next 4-12 months. Should anything change over this period, I will update this review accordingly.Cost-effectiveness and value: Overall I am very satisfied with the product; it is compact, portable, and easy to use. The WH55 is your early warning system and will save you considerably more than you paid for it! At a current price of $34.99, I think it is of great value. In summary: the “WH55 Wireless Water Leak Detection Sensor” made by ECOWITT is well made, compact, accurate, and easy to use. It delivers all this at a reasonably low price. This product is a must-have for every homeowner. I would recommend this product without reservation.Pros 👍:✔ Well made from quality materials.✔ Very easy to set up and use.✔ Sensor detects water seepage every 3 seconds and reports back every 60 seconds (as configured by your monitoring hub).✔ Each hub gateway supports up to four (4) leak sensors each must be set to a separate channel via a dip switch.✔ Uses two (2) AAA batteries.✔ IP44 rated – splash resistant.✔ Loud 90dB siren alarm.✔ Great price point, good value.Cons👎:✘ None!
