1001 Illuminated Initial Letters: 27 Full-Color Plates (Dover Pictorial Archive)

I bought this many years ago in print, and used it constantly in my illustrative art, however it vanished when I recently moved house and was overjoyed to find it in Kindle. It has literally been "My bible in Illuminated Manuscript Letter Design". I use it extensively as a reference while designing Lettershapes for logos, bookwork, ...etc

Using for research for a Christmas present. This is a great and varied selection of illuminated letters.

this is lovely book that is full of beautiful illustrations. it is a great accessory for the artist or calligrapher.

This book is ok, but really old. Silly me ended up with two copies. What a waste of shipping and money....this is my fault, not the seller or Amazon's.

You can't beat a Dover Publication for quality of information, quantity of information, and a fantastic price. This book is filled with well 1001 Illuminated letters. I have gotton many ideas from this book for my own Illuminations. This book is filled with many different painting styles and designs that you can get many ideas from. I definately would recommend this book to anyone trying to see what a wide variety of different painting techniques actually looks like.

The quality of the Kindle copy was poor.

I purchased this book and it gave me ideas for illuminating letters. Each page has a letter of the alphabet and their are various examples of how they can be illuminated.

This book is stunning. I initially bought it on Kindle (I should have just tried a sample) but the images were blurry (on kindle desktop and my phone) so I immediately returned it and purchased the paperback. Can't wait to dip in this for design inspiration.

The book is ideal for my needs, unfortunately i am unable to use it at the moment, but I still love the book, thanks.
