Spacious enough to Sleep up to seven people comfortably, the Mountain Trails grand PASS family dome tent is a great choice for large families and groups. The grand PASS boasts an 18-foot-by-10-foot footprint with a 76-inch center height. As a result, campers have plenty of room to stretch out, stand, or store their gear. The tent is also a breeze to set up, with shock-corded fiberglass poles and a pin-and-ring system. And to keep you cool on warm evenings, the tent offers large mesh roof vents and windows for ample cross-ventilation. You can even Divide the grand PASS into two rooms to enjoy added privacy.

Storm Tested, Scout Tested...
I purchased this tent last year and only set it up for use in the back yard. Seemed like a quality tent but you don't know until you truly go camping. This month our Scout Pack went on our spring campout. Friday was a beautiful day, quite sunny and humid at Palmetto State Park, Texas. The forecast said there might be rain and a cold front, I didn't think it would be that severe. Approx 230 am all he$# broke lose with heavy rain and high winds. As my son slept, I got up to check the tent for leaks. I figured this thing was going to leak like no other. To my amazement only what I would consider a teaspoon of water pooled in each corner where the stakes stretch the corners. I couldn't believe this light weight tent was keeping us dry. Moments later the call was made for all to evacuate to our vehicles for shelter as lightening began to crack all around us. After the lightening and rain stopped, we all returned to our tents with many soaked inside. Not ours. If you are looking for a storm tested tent, you won't go wrong with this one. I did spray all the seams with Teflon last year for additional water protection.

Before the next weekend ( I knew it was supposed to rain again) I treated the whole thing with water-proofing spray in advance a
I used this for 6+ weekends of camping over the last few months. Most of the weekends were very rainy and very windy with that rain. I didn't have any problems through the first rain, but the second rain had a lot of wind that was trying to flatten the tent to the ground. (Not ideal camping weather, so I understand). We did get some standing rain water around the corners of the long ends during that rainy first night, so the 2nd night we used extra tarps to prevent further leaking. Before the next weekend ( I knew it was supposed to rain again) I treated the whole thing with water-proofing spray in advance and it was perfect for the rest of the weekends that I camped. I didn't even need to use the extra tarps for protection. This was a very roomy tent and we were able to fit two "king" sized beds on the floor and still have a small amount of room in the middle to walk through.

Very spacious area. A 6 foot person can stand comfortably in the middle.
I've been waiting to post on this until after quite a few uses. We had a monstrous storm come through our campsite and caused damage to other sites. This tent did a great job staying dry and did not have any structural damage. The folding numbers are a nice feature to make sure it packs up the same each time. It assembles quickly but I do recommend having 2 people do it as it would be very time consuming otherwise. Disassembly can be done by a single person with no delay though. We've been happy with this tent and don't anticipate any issues with workmanship. The only negative we've experienced is it can get stuffy when there is light rain as the vents are not covered and have to remain zipped up to stay dry.

The camping goddess loves me.
We had this tent for 5 years prior to the purchase of this one. It was used for the kids and pets while camping. It endured hell before we had to give it up. Having to look for a new tent sucked, until this one popped up on my search. It was like the camping goddess opened up the heavens and saved us from having to hope another tent would be as good. The tent is huge. We have had friends kids come camping with us and it was still plenty of room. The only downsides, it doesn't have an electrical cord input on the side and the divider hangs loosely on the sides. It rained the first night we came out camping and the kids and pets stayed dry and warm (Well the warmth is from their Mr. Heater Portable Buddy, but you'll have to go to that item for the review.) All in all this tent was, and still is amazing.

Huge tent!
I researched a lot of tents before deciding to buy this one. I knew I wanted something fairly large but I didn't want to spend a ton of money. The Mountain Trails tent fit the bill. Compared to Coleman tents of the same size, this tent is a good $100 less expensive, which makes my wallet happy. When we got this tent, we practiced setting it up in the yard first. My husband put it up in about 20 minutes, with the "help" of our 4 year old. We were able to take it down (2 adults) in about 5 minutes. When we set it up at the campsite (again, 2 adults), it went up in less than 10 minutes. The rainfly is easy to attach. Like other reviews said, the stakes are cheap and flimsy, but I had anticipated this and bought heavy duty stakes. We got to test the water-proof feature in our second day of camping. The only leaks were along the seams on the ends. I will be going over those with seam sealer before our next trip. We did lay a tarp down under the tent to prevent water from pooling and to protect the tent floor. I got a $15 tarp that matches the tent footprint at Walmart and it worked very well. The tent is very spacious. We had a queen size air mattress and a twin size air mattress, a small table and several bags of clothes and gear. There was still plenty of floor space. We really appreciated the size when the rain came in the afternoon. The three of us fit very comfortable and could have spend several hours in the tent if needed without feeling cramped. My only complaint is that there is no electrical access pocket - which is a feature on many of the Coleman tents. We made do by running an extension cord through the door and zipping up around it (no bugs managed to get in). When it rained, we just put a towel around that area to prevent water seeping in.There are mats outside the doors, to prevent dirt and mud from being tracked in, but honestly, they didn't do much. We have a carpet remnant that we will be cutting to fit just inside the tent doors - I think this will be a much better solution to keeping the tent as dirt free as possible. All in all, this was a great purchase. We got a lot of tent for the price and look forward to enjoying it for many camping trips to come.
