Packed with lots of fun and interesting things to see and do.
I never knew Cleveland was so cool! I was only going there to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but I found out from reading this book that there’s so much more!

Makes Cleveland a feature destination
Ever thought of Cleveland as a place for a vacation or holiday, a place to have fun or tour? Here's why you should. As is the case with many "rust belt" American cities, Cleveland is being transformed by a renaissance. Blessed with the cultural and historical institutions of a major city, this book presents the many reasons why you should consider a trip to Cleveland on your Great Lakes itinerary. This book covers Cleveland comprehensively, which you will not find in any other travel book. Cultural and historical destinations are the feature, but interesting outdoor activities are presented too. As is the case with many Moon guides, interesting lodgings, restaurants, shopping, and craft brewing locations within the inner ethnic neighborhoods are featured. Architecture gets notable inclusion too. One thing the book does NOT cover is Cuyahoga Valley National Park, though side trips to interesting inner suburbs and to Akron and Canton are included. One of the problems with writing a travel guide to any city being transformed by renaissance is that listings can become out of date very quickly, and new, interesting sites may not be included. That is the case here, since as of 2022, this book is three years old and is pre-COVID. Check for recent changes in listings.

One of the easiest to read, most well-organized Moon Travel books ever
I have used Moon travel books for various states throughout the years. This new city version is slightly smaller in profile and just the right amount of pages to take with you on a trip without being bulky. Although I have not used this book on an actual trip, I read it to find out what there is to do in the Cleveland area including Cuyohaga National Park and Lake Erie area. The sections are well defined -- what to do, where to stay, where to eat, day trips. The author covers both the typical cultural scene--museums, trendy bars, architectural structures of interest-- and typical out-of-state traveler highlights---Rock and Roll Hall of Fame museum, Cuyahoga State Park, and Lake Erie area. This author achieves the best balance of cultural and tourist highlights that I have seen in any Moon travel book. It is well-written and easy to understand how to organize your trip after reading the book.

Better Than I Could Have Imagined
This is one incredibly through guidebook. It doesn't just hit the highlights you probably already know, but it takes you around the city as if on a guided tour. I didn't purchase the book until after moving here, by if this book is any indication of others in the series, you can bet I won't make that mistake in the future
