I love this gadget!
I've save a ton of dough using this thing and it still works great, the butane canisters are far cheaper in the long run than buying more camp stove canisters. Just put the emptier camp canister in the freezer for 5 mins and it fills up the other lickety split. Money well spent

Pros and cons on this one. Not bad.
So first, this works pretty well to refill a standard backpacking iso-butane cannister (4oz, 7.75oz, etc.) from one of the taller cans used with some larger camping stoves. This is probably the smallest of the refill adapters you'll find on the market.Pros:It's small and very lightweight, which means it's great for backpackingIt's a fairly robust build, so it will lastIt comes with two additional o-ring gasketsOnce you achieve a good fit between the two cans, there do not appear to be any leakage issuesCons:It's small, so easily lost - especially on the trail, amidst leaf clutter, or into a firepit full of ashesIt comes with NO instructions, so check the seller's photos for some helpIt does not get secured between the cannisters in any way other than by friction and pressure. It will therefore easily get lost with just an inadvertent hand motion while you're using it. Make sure you're on a flat surface without much leaf litter. Better, do your refills on a workbench or using an old baking tray under everything to help contain small parts if they let pop off - this unit or one of the o-ringsThere is the danger of a LOT of leakage as you're positioning this valve between cans. With practice, you'll get better at minimizing that, but the amount of cold gas that sprays across your hand at first can be disconcerting. Do NOT use near flame.Once you start filling, the only way to tell if the process is complete is to listen closely to the hissing of gas moving through the valves. Will be difficult to tell in noisy or windy environments. Once the hissing stops, the pressure between the two cans has been roughly equalized, the empty can is full, or the filling can is now empty.Recommended if you can stand the limitations and cons above.

Allows for easy fill of obsolete refillable 9970 lantern
Works to allow Isobutane can to fill the long obsolete Colman powermax xcurssion lantern. The powermax fuel used an internal straw to feed from bottom of fuel can, allowing upright fuilling. This method needs to be filled upside down as pictured for best result. I cant believe an off the shelf solution exists. I know leds have surpassed this dimunitive lantern, but id rather use what I have. Esp. Since its lasted decades... try that led lantern...

Doesn't work.
I tried this multiple times. It leaked out consistently. A friend of mine gave me a cheesy little plastic one he found on Ebay & it worked great.
