Works much better than any guillotine-style trimmers I've used, or the kind with tiny little scissor-style looped handles that I can't get my fingers through. When your dog is really fidgety about getting trimmed, you want something you can get a solid grip on and get the job done quickly. If your dog is highly anxious about being trimmed, have another person there to hold the dog (size permitting). Have some treats handy, then present the clippers. Immediately have the dog-handler give the dog a treat. Gradually work your way up to tapping the dog's paw with the clippers, followed by an immediate treat. Repeat several times and if all goes to plan, the dog should start to associate the clippers with getting a treat. If nothing else, the treats could distract them enough that you can get the job done somewhat easier. There are plenty of videos showing this technique you can find with a quick google. Also lookup a little bit about the anatomy of a dog's claw. If the dog has dark/opaque nails, it's hard to tell how high you can clip without hitting the quick and causing the dog pain. Play it safe, if you hit the quick, it'll hurt the dog and there will be some bleeding and the task will be even more difficult down the road. This is my second pair, as my new dog decided the first pair was a chew toy. I like the size of the handles and they are a bit rubbery so feel secure in the hand. I don't find the file useful, we use a dremel or a human's nail file if we need to take a sharp edge off.They work well on large Labs and my beagle-mix (when I can get her to stop squirming).

first time I clipped my 45 lb heeler/rottweiler mix's toenails because of Covid, throughout her life she was active enough to grind down her strong nails on walks and hikes but the last couple of years as she's slowed down have needed to take her to the vet or groomer to clip her nails. So I got these and they worked well without distressing her. sadly only used them once because she passed (unrelated to nail clipping!) soon after. 13 glorious years with her and she was a solid 14 years young and died peacefully at home.

I love these nail clippers. But my dog is still mad at me!! Sorry not sorry dog. You needed your nails cut. If you can’t find me later my dog did it cuz she’s mad I clipped her nails. And I even gave her Beany Weinies after. My dog maybe a wee bit dramatic!! Oh ya she’s a big girl too. So these work great for the big dogs. Where other smaller clippers just laugh & laugh. Works fabulous on my non dramtic lab and the super sketchy might hurt me in my sleep Dalmatian.

Great dog nail clippers. They are sharp, strong, and durable. Clipped dog nails are clean too. My dog didn't even feel that her nails were being clipped. The clippers came with a small nail file as well. I like using the safety stop feature on my dog's dark nails since it helps in preventing cutting too much. I would recommend this dog nail clipper to any dog owner who would like to cut their dog's nails themselves.

I recommend these clippers---as one cannot make the mistake of cutting too much of the dog's nail in having the guard built right into the clipper. It's easy to hold...and pleasing to the dog during clippings. Good product, thank you.

Perfect for clipping dog nails.I like the guard part as to avoid the nails flying across the room. I usually wear glasses to protect my eyes (hey, you never know). I still wear them but like the piece that helps to prevent the nails from flying. This works great, easy grib, easy to clip and easy to clean with alcohol pads.

Easy to use & will save me paying a groomer. Thought the price & speed of delivery was great.

I love these this is the second set one bought but the first set not by this company I couldn't use as they required to much strength. These are brilliant. I don't have much strength in my hands and I don't need it with these. Brilliant place guard on by slide motion and away you go. I have a big dog with big paws and her nails were trimmed in no time. I can't say enough about this. Push lock on put away till next time. 2 mins top to do every claw. Good job slip handles spring loaded . Good price very fast delivery no fuss

I've been trimming my dogs nails for years, tried allsorts, after all they are only nail clippers. Not true, they need to be comfortable to use, also actually cut the nail cleanly. I bought a pair recently, that shattered the nail, awful, these clippers by DamPers, are a pleasant surprise, they actually cut, which is so important and comfy to use, I like the nice bright colour overall I recommend them. I've used loads over the years, these are the best yet in my opinion.

recieved these today as i pay too much to vets to clip my cat and now have a springer puppy. i did my first clip on my puppy. very easy to use. love the fact it has a file for any sharp edges. havent yet tried my cat but very happy. strong, sharp and easy to use. would highly recommend these from a first time clipper.

I don’t write reviews often because most products are just ok but nothing special. These clippers, on the other hand, are amazing.We have a very nervous dog that has to be almost sedated to get his nails clipped. With taking the dog to the vet being impossible right now, we had tried cheaper clippers and ended up scratched and virtually traumatised. So I decided to get a more expensive device that appeared more robust and what a difference!Initially the dog was apprehensive but after the first two nails he relaxed as he could tell it was going to be easy, and it was. The whole process took no more than 5 minutes and I did it without any assistance.A fantastic product and thoroughly recommended.
