Best coffee maker EVER!
This thing makes the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had! In the long run it’s much cheaper than K cups. Coffee doesn’t stay hot in the Chemex for very long though, but that’s not really a big issue. Just make a half batch or throw your cup in the nuker for 30 seconds or so and you’re good to go.

Takes a little practice!
I roast my own beans, use a R58 espresso machine, Technivorm drip, 2 press pots - large and small, and an Ibrik. So I'm fairly well versed in all things coffee. That being said, this Chemex makes a pretty good cup of coffee but takes a little practice! My "1/2 pot" dimpled indicator measures holds 12ozs and that produces a standard size latte cup, just FYI. The pot is suppose to be full at the bottom of the wooden collar, but for mine that's 32ozs. If the 1/2 pot dimple is "suppose" to be half a pot, that dimple is off by 4ozs. No big deal, but it helps to measure yours and confirm yours is marked accordingly. Instructions say use 1 TBS coffee per 5oz water. Like using a press pot, length of time the water is in contact with the grounds effects final taste and takes a little practice for consistency. So use a timer. Just remember when it says "6-cup" that's 5oz cups, not standard SAE 8oz! I usually drink two triple shot espresso drinks every morning, then I'm done with caffeine for the day. But this makes a nice change of pace when I'm bored with espresso. BTW - extraction temperature is critical with correctly brewed coffee or tea. Industry standard for coffee is 205 degrees, so I also us a COSORI electric kettle and it's only off by 1/2 a degree at the 205 setting. AND it's bluetooth for monitoring! Would I recommend this? If you're coffee geek like my self -- YES!

Huge improvement in taste of coffee
We have had drip coffee makers and have used a French press for years but with the first cup from this, the flavor of our coffee hugely improved. Now we want to drink more and I should have gotten the 8 cups size! Takes a couple minutes to pour the hot water in and drain the coffee down through the grounds but well worth it. We make our coffee very strong and this way it is never bitter, very smooth and no burnt taste. Highly recommend.

smooth, "pure" tasting coffee, hard to clean
I bought this for my roommate for Xmas. We are both big craft coffee snobs and this was the only brewing method, besides a siphon that we don't yet have at home. We both agree that the flavor of the coffee is well preserved with this method. It tastes more "pure" without any grounds in it, etc. To make two cups of coffee, we use 45 grams of ground coffee (ground at #20 in our Burr grinder) and 690 ml of water. What I find interesting is that only about 560 ml of water comes through the grounds. That means that the filter and grounds are absorbing quite a lot of the water, hence a smaller volume of water in both of our cups. Not a deal breaker, but interesting to notice that phenomena. Also, it's impossible to clean without a brush because your hand cannot fit inside to clean it. Again, not a deal breaker, but one thing I love about other pour over methods is that you can just throw away the filter and rinse it and it's good to go again. Not so with the Chemex. Lastly, and I am not being factitious here, but couldn't you just use a cheap flower vase? There isn't anything super special about the design or the glass or any part of it that couldn't be swapped out for a Goodwill glass flower vase. Just saying... As a coffee aficionado, we felt we needed this, and I am glad we tried it, but we go back to our plastic Hario V60 and glass Kalita Wave more often.

Cleanest Coffee ☕️ You Can Make
This was a great way to start my new fall hobby of pour over coffee☕️ i’m still experimenting with different brands, brews and blooms🌻And why is it, men leave the longest reviews. I believe they really love their coffee.( apology to those who just want it hot and in a paper cup)
