Restomod hifi
I purchased this cassette to add Bluetooth to an old retro Ghetto Blaster. I took seconds to get paired up to my phones Bluetooth and works perfectly. Yes the cassette does make a little noise which can be stopped by pressing pause. As long as the the heads are making contact it still plays which would be a great benefit if the belts were worn or broken in your player? Very happy with this product 👍 Update I have taken this product apart (easy diy) and added a little LM grease to the internal gears and now it runs completely silent and still working great 👍

A bit squeaky in the mechanism
There's a mechanical connection between the tape "spools" in this that squeaks as they move. How much this matters will depend on what you're using it in---with a full-size tape deck or boombox, you can probably hit pause and it will stop turning the motor but keep the play head engaged, solving the problem. In a car deck or something where that's not an option, this could drive you up the wall. It *has* settled a bit in noise since it was new, and honestly I suspect if you're willing to risk breaking a fairly cheap get-what-you-pay-for product you could probably get in and lubricate it better. In my case, I can just pause+play. As a bluetooth device, it's fine, it's very much a cheap slightly-weird single-button affair that's sometimes a bit finnicky about reconnecting, but seems solid enough once it's going. The quality of the actual audio is good and the levels seem sensible. The head is stereo and I *think* it's coated to protect your equipment from metal-on-metal scratching. Most importantly, it's normal casette-sized, with only a very slight button lump that doesn't go beyond the usual guides, so it should fit in most loading mechanisms and let the door close behind it---be careful not to get the version with the dongle if you're using it with a boombox or hi-fi deck.

Brings the 21st Century to the 80s
Instead of hunting down cassettes from a well known auction site, this tape turns any unit to a Bluetooth receiver. You can stream any music service to old boomboxes or old car stereos. My boombox tape player works but now I can stream 80s music to it from my iPhone. The only bug is there’s a low buzzing noise due to the head needing cleaning but if you turn the stereo down and your phone up it’s like being back as a child. It’s a simple setup up, charge and press the button which will flash blue and comes up on your Bluetooth list, open your music and press play. There’s not many of these that would come the next day but ordered and came on time, including is a micro usb cable that’s for charging the unit which will give you hours of playback. Highly recommended if your tape player won’t work as all it needs is the head of the player to make contact, I have no idea how it works after that but it does.

Not a good fit for my requirements
The product is professionally packaged and seems to be quite well made. Although the instructions aren't in the best English, they are quite comprehensible enough to follow. Now for the plus and minus points on the use of the product. On the plus side: * Charged quickly. * Easy to set up and use. * Paired with my phone no problem through Bluetooth and provided I stayed within a few meters, the pairing proved to be reliable. On the minus side: * First attempt at use was in an old portable cassette player. This did not work, because the cassette locating spring in the cassette player comes into contact with the on/off switch on the cassette. Not my ultimate intended use of the cassette, but a pity nonetheless. * Next, I tried my luck with the casette's intended use, which is to get integration between my phone and my 2005 Jaguar XK8. This started off fairly promisingly, in that I quickly got a signal, but.... * With just the phone paired, the cassette in the tape deck and the tape deck running (no music playing yet) I could hear a distinct low frequency audio pulse every 0.5 secs, similar in character to a bass drum, but slightly higher and softer. Most irritating! * Things didn't get any better when I attempted to play music. Now I got yet another low frequency pulse, similar to the first, but softer and approx every 0.1 seconds. * Attempting to change the position of the device, location of the car (just in case it was external interference), volume settings on tape deck and device, car engine on and off, did nothing to improve the situation. Pulses still clearly audible over the music. * Suspect that this device will have different levels of success with different cars, but I can't get it to perform with my XK8. I'm going to contact the manufacturer to get their comments, as I'd really like this device to work.

Decent Sound But Mediocre Overall Quality
Sound quality is actually really clear, more so than previous Bluetooth adapters I've used: hardly any 'whine' in the background that I can hear regardless of DNR setting (although DNR off does produce slightly higher quality sound). I did find that it would play audio both forwards and when the stereo was in reverse; however, the sound was very quiet when running in reverse - probably to be expected, and a simple thing to check if your sound is super quiet. It DOES play stereo, and I have had no issues with head alignment. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the unit was pretty poor, there was a lot of noise from the (plastic) geartrain - my solution was to unscrew and prise open the case, and remove said geartrain since my stereo doesn't have any auto-skipping function to require it. Also, the unit itself is incredibly lightweight, more so than a regular cassette. The battery - whilst undoubtedly providing decent playtime - is minuscule (170mAh IIRC, might've been 130mAh though). Finally, the one-button interface was a little temperamental at first, requiring multiple 'smooshes' to get it to actually respond... To be fair, this does seem to have gotten better after a couple of uses. TL;DR: Entirely functional, decent sound, but not a particularly enjoyable user experience.

A step up from fm based Bluetooth
Got sick of fm based Bluetooth transmitters so bought this. Quality is miles better and the battery lasts a week at least. Easy to set up and use. Would recommend if your stuck in the past like me and only have CD and tape players in your car,

Simple to use and brings 90s OE equipment (nearly) up to date
Great price, straightforward to charge, link to an iPhone and use. Charge it up, switch it on, link via Bluetooth and use the phone or radio/tape player controls. I use it in a 1995 VW Golf. You can hear the whir of the wheels in the adapter going round but this can be counteracted by using the phone volume rather than the tape player control. I have heard of removing the cogs in the adapted to reduce noise - which seems simple enough to do- but I’ve not bothered to investigate this and would be cautious about disrupting the electronics. Simple cheap easy solution to using your phone music with old technology in your car. I believe you can get a similar adapter with a cable and microphone so you can effectively use your phone through the radio via Bluetooth but I’ve not no real need for this.

Works, but sound quality was tinny
This worked ok, with no drop-outs as far as I could tell, but using it in my 17-year-old Skoda’s cassette deck the sound quality wasn’t great. It didn’t seem to utilise all of the speakers - the sound seemed very tinny, and only seemed to come out of the front, and the bass was non-existent. The sound in my Skoda is excellent, for its age, so I was a bit disappointed with this Bluetooth receiver and returned it. Have gone back to using a cable adaptor, but I’ve not found one of those yet that doesn’t cut out unless you’ve got it in exactly the right position and don’t hit any bumps in the road!
