Great, simple helmet
Exactly what I wanted. A simple, no frills helmet that is an upgrade from helmets from my youth. This helmet works great as a starter helmet or if you only do a little welding from time to time. Comfortable and simple.

Wow! An amazing welding hood for the price!
Skip to third paragraph if you want the nitty-gritty. I knew that the welding hood/helmet I had been using for the past 14 years wasn't great - it was the popular HF blue flame deal that a lot of people buy. I usually only use my welder once a year or so when a random project pops up, so I made due. This past week, however, I decided to tackle a bunch of welding projects that I had put aside due to just not wanting to use my subpar hood, but these projects weren't going to finish themselves! After firing up my MIG welder and putting on my HF special, it took me about a solid minute to realize that my hood was malfunctioning and wasn't auto-darkening all the way through a weld pass. The next morning I woke up to the dreaded "sand in your eyes" feeling and missed a day of work because of it. It was then that I decided I should probably look to see what the latest hoods were all about. So I hopped on Amazon. True Color? Panoramic? What?! When did these advancements come along? It was a daunting task to wade through all of the options available on here, but in the end I settled on this as-of-yet-unreviewed gem due to the generally positive reviews of this brand and the fact that it had all the bells and whistles - True Color, panoramic view (with all three panels having auto-darken), and an LED light, all for a c-note. I was willing to take a risk since I could always return it if it didn't perform. Let me say that I'm glad I chose this hood and wanted to assure others that this is a great buy! Super easy to use and after lots of use over the past few days, I can tell you that I can now actually see what I'm welding on without fear of burning my eyes.

Functional for price point
I feel like I got my moneys worth. Wanted a little more field of a vision. Clarity is nice, no complaints. Instructions are good. Controls, Battery department and lenses are easily accessible so I feel like maintenance won't be a chore. No comment on longevity yet. Only have slight concern for the sensitivity adjustment. The first 80% of it does almost nothing in day light looking right up into the sun or my shop light. The last 20% is most of the fine tuning. I'm not sure if its cause for concern or not. I'm not too impressed with the delay over my $30 dollar bargain brand helmet. It lightens up nearly instantly after a weld and I still have to hold my hand up or look away as the metal cools from bright red over 2 seconds. My other helmet would keep dark until the pool cooled a couple of seconds. As far as reaction time, spot on, no worries of an arc flash to the eyes. That being said, I feel like the features, clarity, fit, ease of working on justify the money spent. Maybe mine didn't have the best QC, or its just working as intended, but I'll round it up from 3.5 to 4 stars, not quite a 3.

The auto darkening lens is working again with the new battery
I have been welding for 56 years and have used many different welding hoods. I have never had one that is this comfortable to wear and has such a large view. The quick change lens works perfectly. The headband feels like your mother is cradling your head. The design will keep it on your head in any position. I recommend it over any that I’ve ever used. After sitting idle for about 10 months, the auto darkening feature didn’t work. I replaced the battery and it still didn’t seem to work. It sat with the new battery in it for about 24 hours and now is working like new. I love this hood over any I’ve used. It’s very comfortable and the vision area is great. I am retired from welding for a living and I only do projects in my shop, so it doesn’t get the rough treatment that it would if I were on a job doing tight position welds. For my use, it is perfect. If anyone knows where to get a replacement auto darkening lens for this hood, please let me know. (Hopefully I will not need one)

you kinda get what you pay for ...
works better after replacing battery. I've had this helmet for 2 years now and just used it a handful of times. battery is larger (CR2450?) and not a standard size --- feel like i have other helmets that lasted years without replacing the battery and they were used far less. i decided to check the battery after it became incredibly slow responding (i had to time the arc strikes with blinks because it wasn't responding). Still won't auto dim if i shine a bright flashtlight at the screen so i'm not sure its still 100% working

I'm a weekend hobby welder and just used the helmet today. Very nice and comfortable headgear with heavy padding on the back strap. Did not pull out my hair as I find the bare plastic straps tend to do if not wearing a beanie. Stays on my head and very easy to adjust to lower the hood with a quick nod of the head. Came fully assembled with extra battery and front lens covering. Very clear viewing area. Like that all the controls, except the test button are on one side. Much clearer and more comfortable than my older Lincoln hood. I was always needing to adjust the Lincoln and it inevitably would easily fall off my head. Could never seem to get it to stay put. Time will tell how well the Toolium will stay on my head when I'm crawling around underneath a project. The Lincoln has served me well, however the Toolium with its brighter viewing technology will become my primary helmet.

Took a while to adjust the straps, but now fits nicely, does the job well, good value.

I'm quite happy with this product. It functions as well as any mask of similar type. Very responsive, multiple settings for grinding cutting and welding and they just work. Very comparable to masks from $20-120 more than this one of the same type. Head straps are plastic with padding in the right spots. Very adjustable, good support and are sturdy. They may break eventually but used in a reasonable way I can see this mask lasting me a while. Comes with a spare battery and it just works. So far, my first impressions of using it for 3 days for 5-6 hours a day are good ones.
