Great shoe. Take a week or two to break in and they become fantastic.

Really like them so far after a few days of constant wear
First pair of Thursday boots. Took these with me on a trip to NYC - very comfortable even brand new walking around town, visiting central park and on a 3 hour walking tour. One small hot spot near small toe in the beginning but that was temporary. Held up nicely with 4 days of nearly constant wear and lots of walking - time will tell on overall durability. Very happy with the walnut color - goes well with different color pants/outfits. I usually wear size 10 sneakers so followed suggestions and got 9.5 in these - fits nicely.

Good for the money
I bought a pair Thursday Boots based on the many internet praises the brand receives, including from people who seem to know boots. I was looking for something to wear with a suit instead of my regular oxfords. The Cadet seems to have the shortest heel of the Thursday Boots I looked at and would blend in the easiest. The Cadet uses "full grain leather", unlike the popular Captain boot and many other Thursdays that either use "Thursday Chrome" or "Rugged and Resilient" leather. The leather on the Cadet is soft, but seems very thin (even with the glove liner). By my caliper the outer leather is about 1.3 mm thick; 2.3 mm with the glove liner. It works for a dress boot. I would not want to rough these up. My first impression upon picking them up was "dainty." This is perhaps not a fair comparison as I wear Red Wing Blacksmiths everyday (a heavier, thicker leather, way more casual boot with a $300 price tag). I wear a 9 in the Blacksmith and ordered a 9 in the Cadet. The Cadet has a slimmer fit and I was very close to sending them back for a 9.5, but they broke in and the 9 works for me. I won't rave about their comfort, but they are good enough. Way more comfortable than my Blacksmiths WITHOUT an insole, but I use a Klogs insole with my Blacksmiths to make them extremely comfortable. I do not have enough room in the Cadet for an insole, so I am stuck with the plain boot, which is tolerable. The laces did not impress me. Again, I am comparing them to the flat, waxed cotton laces from a boot that costs 50% more. I swapped them for some round waxed cotton to dress them up a bit. The build quality and the sole are high points. The heel is attached very firmly. I think the Cadet has a shank given that the arch doesn't budge when I push on it. The stitching is fine (no loose threads or anything). The full grain leather shines up well. I'd love to see a pair of these with some brogue detailing. As my title states, I think these are a good pair of boots FOR THE MONEY, but I'd be disappointed if they cost a bit more. These being my only experience with Thursday Boot Company, I'm skeptical that their other boots are actually comparable to Red Wings, Wolverines, etc, but if their other offerings use thicker leather then they probably are a steal (if you dig the longer, slimmer, more tapered style).

Quality well above its price
These boots fit well. I wear 11.5 (or 12 sometimes) in athletic shoes. These run a bit large so I ordered 10.5 and they fit like they were custom made for me. I would probably done well with a 11 as well, but wanted a less roomy, more dress shoe type of fit. I still have plenty of room to wiggle my toes.Leather is beautiful, styling is great. Workmanship and materials are above that of any other $190 boot, by far. Loving the Thursday Boot version of the classic Danite outsole. I look forward to many years with this pair of boots. It’s not my only pair of Thursday Boots and it won’t be my last.

Nice boots, but run small
I ordered these as I needed shoes to wear to a wedding but also wanted to be able to wear them them in less formal settings. Since I already own a pair of Thursday boots (Captains) that were great right out of the box I decided to give these a try. As far as appearances, they were perfect. They'd shine up nice enough to wear with a suit but not look out of place with jeans and a t-shirt. The fit was not what I expected though. They were noticeably tight around the toes, especially my pinky toes. I took them off and compared them to my Captains and they look to be at least a half size smaller even though I ordered the same size in both. Due to the placement of the stitching on the toe caps it's unlikely they would have stretched enough to be comfortable. I'll be sending these back and getting a larger size. If those work I'll be updating this review accordingly.Update: I ordered a half size larger and they were still too narrow but if I go up any larger they'll be far too long. Unfortunately they don't offer these in wide widths. I also spoke to someone from Thursday and they informed me that these are made with a different last than the Captains, so don't be fooled by the (very) similar appearance.TL/DR: Look great but run small.

not the best quality
laces torn and shoes got wrinkly after the first time i wore them. overall quality is not the best. not really worth the price.. customer service is very slow and not very responsive. was promised replacement laces 5 days ago. i have not yet received any tracking number or any anything. they mistakenly sent me one extra pair of shoes. which costed me my time and trip to ups to ship it back to them and pay out of pocket to print the return label that they had sent.

Good for the money, holding up well
I've had these for a couple of months now.I own better boots, but they cost twice as much. With these, the leather is a little thinner, and the rubber is a little harder, and some seams might not be triple stitched, but all in all, it checks the boxes for a good city boot. They wouldn't be my choice of boots for slogging through slush, or tramping through the bush, but they're very wearable on a day to day basis. They're comfortable enough to wear all day at the office, or to walk many kilometres in a city, where a big stompy boot is going to be excessive. The rugged and resilient leather in Tobacco is a nice sharp oiled leather, which might not be something to wade through ditches with but it does a great job of beading and repelling water. It broke in easily, and scuffs tend to disappear with a bit of rubbing with one's fingers, which is handy because I often wear these while cycling and I'm always banging them against the pedals. The cut is sharp and trim, and lends itself well to being dressed up a bit even if not a proper dress shoe. And even if they're a city boot, they're not flimsy. If you use shoe trees and let them dry out between wearings, clean them, and apply a little Cobbler's Choice leather protector from time to time, the uppers should last a good long time and it's just a matter of getting a cobbler to put a new sole on them when they wear out.In terms of sizing, I've found that the best fit is my true Brannock size, where with many Goodyear welted shoes and boots I'm a half size down. This sees to boil down to the last used by Thursday for this boot being a little less roomy in the toes, perhaps relating to the focus upon a very trim style.I think Thursday has done a pretty good job here. It's a real leather boot. There's better leather out there, but this one is good. There's better soles out there, but this one is good (and an actual 360 degree Goodyear welt with a cork bed midsole).

Nice looking shoe. Poor quality, lasted two wears
Sole separated at toe after wearing for 1 day in the office. Soles are rock solid and there is little padding and no arch support. Insoles are glued down - wearers wishing to use orthotics or their insole may find that problematic.

Comfort, style and quality.
Thursday is my go-to brand for leather boots; I've bought three pairs. They're durable, maintain their shape well, and their sizing advice is spot-on. Their customer service is top-notch. If you're in NYC, their shop is a must-visit – totally worth it. Somewhat hidden on the 2nd floor of an office-industrial looking building.

Disappointing
Both were different colours to each other and yet neither matches the pictures. The quality of the leather is lower than expected. I'd recommend not following the size down recommendation.
