Q: Is it easy to assemble?

It is very *simple* to assemble, but how easy it is will depend on your skill. Revell made some smart choices in how the kit is broken down into pieces, but 1:350 is such a small scale that you're going to have some tiny parts. The railing on the conning tower, periscopes, and anti-net rigging around the propeller are particularly fragile. The net cutter on the nose for my kit was broken and mangled in the box, but I was able to get it back into shape with some hot water. The fit on everything is very good, however, so with a healthy measure of care and patience you should get through it all fine.

Q: Is this actually 1:720 scale, or is that a typo? At 7.5 inches long, this sounds more like 1:350 scale to me.

Q: Does this need glue or paint?

It is a model KIT, therefore it requires glue and paint. There are several tutorials on YouTube concerning this very kit. Good luck and enjoy the process.

Q: Does the stand come off?

Yes, this model has to be built, you will need cement and paint (optional), the stand will come off unless you glue it to the hull.
