I couldn’t get suet when I needed it to make mincemeat. This was a great source. Gave the mincemeat a silky flavor. Had no beef taste.

Took care of all my suet-related needs
I live in Arkansas, a state in which you can literally get rendered hog lard just by turning a tap in every kitchen. Anything from a live feral hog to a soused pig's head can be purchased virtually anywhere from a liquor store to a bodega. But suet? I might as well ask for a piece of the True Cross! How to make a proper plum pudding without the glorious unguent that is suet? Amazon to the rescue, and Christmas is saved.

Old fashioned plum pudding
My 100 year old recipe for plum pudding calls for grated suet. I have not been able to find it here in eastern PA for several years. Found it on Amazon, made my plum pudding and it was so good. Thank you!

The real deal for making a suet pudding
Never used before ( I grew up in UK where suet puddings came in a can and boiled in a pan. When cooked, open the can and invert like a can of cranberry jelly). I anticipated a block of fat like crisco, and was pleasantly surprised to find it comes in pellet form, which makes measuring easy (refrigerate first and measure when cold; the pellets start to melt together even from the warmth of your hand).Decided to make Spotted Dick from scratch, bought a cheap steamed pudding mold, and followed a recipe using Atora. Better even than I remember! A huge hit with family. Also used to make Yorkshire puddings and two Toad-in-the-holes until my twin pack ran out. I'll be ordering more!
