Easy install, nice and clean looking without the tabs.
Easy install, nice and clean looking without the tabs. It is chrome plated plastic, but very thick plastic, so it should last a few years at least. The only trouble I had installing was that I needed to use longer stainless screws to attach it to the car, so I had to buy those locally. The Plateguard website says to use 5/8" or longer screws. It also sits away from mounting tabs a little bit, so it appears to sort of float, that keeps it from vibrating or clunking when closing the trunk. Good product, better than most plate covers I've used in the past.

This is the one!
The product says Made in China, I think it should say: Well Made in China. I've looked at many designs in the last 8 months...this one belongs in the Museum of Modern Arts, right next to Dieter Rams for Braun and Herman Miller. contemporary and classic...just enough and not more. Very well done! The cost to produce the tooling just to make this part must have been over $100,000. I liked the design immediately. I messed up when I installed it...I had to modify it. (This is my problem). During my error, I discovered that the copper plating and chrome plating were very generous and well done. I removed the ball radius nobs that contacted the rear of the license plate...and forced the frame away from the car...I did it badly. As I am getting older, I just cannot remember where my good tools are. I used instead a disk sander: not good. When the plating starts to go green, I'll just go on Amazon and get another one.

Great frame
So far so good I've had This license plate frame for about 3 months And still looks good and is holding up. It is made of plastic but it looks like metal And it's very strong it's not cheaply made either.

Great plate frame, but didn't fit right without a little work
The license plate seems to be of very high quality and the chromed plastic looks flawless. My favorite thing about the plate frame is that, unlike other frames I've used, it makes no contact with my cars paint. The only reason it didn't give this a five star rating is because I had to put foam tape between the tabs and my Minnesota license plate. Otherwise, the plate would not have fit snugly and there would have been a gap on each side between the plate and the frame.

Clean look
Awesome look and shows the whole plate. It will be easy to attach tabs.

Ingenious!
WOW, works like a charm! We have a personalized license and were looking for something that wouldn't cover up the design... this did the job perfectly. Easy to install. We used the two (per plate) plate screws that came with the car and bought Dorman 785-166 License Plate Fasteners for the bottom screws. Those fit our 2017 Chevy Tahoe just fine. Well made and very sturdy. Highly recommended!

Doesn't fit Ohio plates / Can't install on 2017+ Audi A4
These look great and are sturdy but didn't work for me. Doesn't fit my Ohio plates. You slide the plate in from behind, and my brand new Ohio plates are too wide to pop over the tabs on both sides. I had to apply so much pressure to try and get the plate under the tabs that I bent the plate. I ended up using tin snips and a metal file to size the plates to fit in the frame. I then went to install on my 2018 Audi A4 - the frame is so big it won't clear the backup camera on the rear trunk lid of the car. There is no way to install this frame on a B9 generation (2017+ in USA) Audi A4.

Exactly what I was looking for!!
I have Nevada United We Stand plates that say "We Will Never Forget" at the bottom. Of course my car only has two screw holes for each plate and every other frame I could find covered the We Will Never Forget part. I looked EVERYWHERE, every Walmart & Target I came across, every auto parts store and on-line, then I came across these. A little more than I wanted to spend but that's OK because they look great. I purchased some screw covers and glued to over the screw holes at the bottom so they would look nice.

WOW! I don't regret getting this. Yes it's plastic (ABS type) but super quality. It's a lot better than I actually expected, a pleasant surprise. Super quality and it looks really sharp. I recommend to get a set of screws and chrome caps. Yes you can slide the place in there but would be easy to rip off IMO. The picture I added shows how good the frame looks and how dirty my car is. Yes the plate is masked hence how it looks. :)

I looked at a few license plate frames before settling on this one. Because almost every other frame comes as a pair, I was expecting two. For the price, I think this item is too much money. Also no mounting hardware or caps to speak of. The frame is all you get. As for the frame, its pretty basic, made of plastic, no telling how durable it will be.
