CAP Barbell Weighted Workout Bar | 5-20 lb | Multiple Options

All the other bars I own (and I own a lot, including others in these exact weight categories) measure 48"L x 1.2"W. The 5lb CAP bar I just got measures (as noted in the listing) 50.79"L x 2.95"W. The extra 3" length is noticeable in making the bar a bit more of a challenge to handle. I like that. The bar itself is much much more padded than others, as noted in the double thickness. It's very "cushy" ... which I'm not sure I like as much—but I think most users will actually prefer. Def a nice, well-made item by a standard maker of workout gear. Just note the difference in dimensions from what you might already own

I saw comments criticizing the way their weight bars arrived, some had gouges, dents etc -- mine arrived in a sturdy box and no damage -- it's exactly as I'd hoped it would be, weight distrubition is even --it's solid, ready to be put to use.

This workout bar is comfortable to hold and adds the perfect amount of resistance to my strength training routine. It's durable, well-balanced, and great for a variety of exercises at home.

Came a bit dirty and clearly previously used, but not damaged in any way so I’ll just clean it. It also has a bit of a looseness to it (internal parts shifting) in use that other bars i have don’t. Doesnt make it unusable but does indicate a quality difference. Overall it’s fine and usable for purpose.

Though there was a small gouge in the foam, I kept this item. Those do happen with these weighted, padded fitness bars just from ordinary use. That one thing is my only negative on this item. Being that these are covered in a rubbery foam padding. I needed to clean it before using it to remove production oils. It was fine after a quick spray of Simple Green, and wipe down with a rag. The bar is 4’ long, weighs 20 lbs, and on sale it was a solid value for the money. I could have paid a lot more for a 20 lb fitness bar like this elsewhere. These are perfect for my home gym. I use them both in some routines with DVDs, and as fixed barbells for doing ladders and mechanical drop sets on certain movements. They are easy to grip, and do not slip out of my hands since I can squeeze the padding, and because cleaned those oils before first use. The biggest consideration someone needs to give to these, if thinking of getting them, is where and how you store them. If you lay these on a hard flat surface you will get a flat area of foam, and this will break down the foam faster over time. If they lean against something touching the foam with pressure in one place it may gouge a hole or tear into the foam. Racks specifically for these, that let them stand on end range from $120-$299. When you have just 1-2 of these a corner works. But I have them from 5-30 lbs in 5 lb increments. Making storage a needed consideration.

I have these in three weights. As my son trains for freshman football I use these as a reverse progressive finisher- straight raise to overhead and back. One set at the end of his shoulder workout. He does 30lbs to failure, moves immediately to 15kbs to failure then 8lbs to failure. He hates it- in a good way. These bars are well built and versatile. I have an outside gym and they hold up to the AZ heat. I highly recommend them.

The foam is damaged. I am disappointed because there is no way I am going to return this. I'll throw some gorilla tape on it, but you may want to go somewhere else to purchase this item.

I love this thing. I got it to give me the sledgehammer workout, but I found that because it is distributed evenly, it's more like a Claymore workout. So I've been swinging it around like a madman with a sword and the weight of it causes a lot of muscles to be used simultaneously. I'm using my core, legs, back, chest, arms, everything. In under ten minutes, I'm sweating and panting like I just survived a fight with the "Mountain". Definitely recommend it, they have various weights, would probably recommend a lower weight so that you can go for a longer period of time without getting tired. I also use this while doing sit-ups, squats, and shoulder presses.

This has been a great addition to my home gym! The bar is completely wrapped in foam so it’s very comfortable to use.

I purchased the 8lb barbell to supplement my at-home workout routine. The package arrived on time and in perfect shape. The weight has a soft cushion so I can comfortably lift the barbell and hold it with my shoulders. Overall, great product!
