I lost my old yellow flashlight and needed a new one. I almost did not buy this one becase of the negative reviews. These flashlights far exceed anything I could have hoped for. They do not have an aluminum smell, the are super bright and most of all the are perfect for my eyes being I cannot take white/blue lights! I would recommended them to everyone I know! I will use these at night when I need to get up and don't want the white light waking me up by overstimulating my brain.

Right after, I had gotten two flashlights in same box. Then I tested both and all were very excellent for night and keep my eyes from blue light invading. I love both. I put one in my purse and I use another for night vision and bed time. Yeah!!!

Useful for midnight bathroom runs without the blue light that could turn off melatonin production and cause trouble resuming sleep. Output verified with a spectroscope; as described it is pretty much full spectrum but with no blue, period. As such you are not going to have accurate color rendition but that is a given. Only wish it were smaller, not crammed into the generic Chinese "zoomie" housing, and ran on an AAA cell instead.

I bought this because I like a dark bedroom, but have to get up in the middle of the night to pee. After banging my shin, I bought this, hoping it wouldn't be too bright nor mess up my going back to sleep. Works great. If I could have it better for my purposes, I would love that selecting the dimmest setting would stick every time I turned it on, instead of having to cycle. I did figure out I can cycle the brightness settings without the button clicking each time, but still. It would be nice. Also, a super duper dim setting would be awesome, but I know that's reaching for the stars! I love it, and the extra one will go into my camping bag, where I probably will appreciate the brightness levels.

As always, Hooga always delivers a quality product. Almost everything today, in terms of lighting, comes at temperatures of 5000K or colder (up to 6500K). I am a fan of 2,700K to 4,500K lighting because they don't have any blue (or cold) undertones to them. The 2,700K range starts getting very yellowish or orangish, and that may be too much for some people, but these really look great in the dark and are very easy on the eyes. I have many Hooga products that fall in the warm light range, and they are great to have around.

We use these every night for story time and loveee that they aren’t to bright and blue/white light! The brightness is good and we love the orange tone!

Amber color is excellent alternative to night vision red and meets my needs and expectations. One light has a defective tail switch - still functional, but defective. Card with order says contact and will resolve problems, but no response so far (9Oct25). Update: 15Nov25, still no contact from hooga regarding defective tail switch, removing one star from rating. Update: 16Dec25, never received follow-up from hooga for defective tail switch. Lights are good (well, one of two is) - they get a four star. Follow up service deducts. Don’t offer problem resolution if you’re not going to provide problem resolution. Minus another star.

We love the eye comforting shade of amber, but these will annoying blink on & off. .seems like a bad connection, these come in a 2pack & I switched the one out thinking it was just a faulty one, but unfortunately they both do this. It’s just annoying & disturbing..kind of defeats the purpose of “ relaxing & comforting light”😐

I'm happy I bought these flashlights. The light is exactly what I needed for my job. Sturdy feel. Easy push button on/off. Nice weight. Fits in my pocket nicely. I really like it. Comes in a pkg of 2 which is perfect.
