Type of borosilicate matters
Used twice. Glass is already fracturing at the heat point source. Looking into why a little bit closer, I've learned that type 1 is apparently much more appropriate for this application than the type 3 used in this kit.With that said, I was using it for TTB proofing of cordials, and sugar water has to go hotter than some essential oils. Maybe it would work better for your purpose. It was packed well, and all the glass arrived in an unbroken state. The pieces went together well and easily. It's a pity that just heating it hot enough to boil a high sugar content alcohol was enough to cause fractures.

Everything came well packed. My one pet peeve was that I couldn’t remove the thermometer without breaking it because it was really long and tightly packed

Decent low budget glass!
For the price, you get a pretty good assortment to get you started with. Packaged very well. Only complaint is that the condenser came misformed to the point its stopped up.
