Perfect for the job!
I live in a small village in Norfolk and we get lots of powercuts in Winter. This lantern is perfect. Battery operated. It provides the amount of light needed from dim to bright. It’s excellent!!

Illuminating, well finished and affordable; and looks like something straight out of a Dickensian novel. Great buy.

I assume the scratches all over the glass were the “distressed finish” ?
Don’t get me wrong - I like it. But the glass is covered in scratches and the bulb extremely crooked - paint splashes on the base - just looks a bit cheap. But from a distance yes it does have a nice vintage glow and feel so can’t complain too much.

On/Off Switch not there
This item is lovely looking, arrived before I expected and seemed fine. However, the on/off/timer switch is missing. There is no way to turn it on or off or to take advantage of the timer function. Just a black hole where the button should be ! What a shame it wasn't checked before it was boxed up and sent. Bit of a waste of my money I think.
