If you just need something that works, this watch is an excellent choice.
Just what I was looking for. I've purchased some digital watches over the past year from Nike, Suunto and a few others and paid three or four times as much. I coach soccer and need a reliable, durable, unobtrusive and easy to use digital watch with a chronograph. This Timex fits all of those requirements and cost me less than $30. YES!!! I like that it fits well and isn't overly large. I REALLY like that the stopwatch is super easy to find, easy to start, easy to reset but not likely to be reset accidentally. And I REALLY like that I was able to set the time, date, etc; intuitively on my own without even looking at the user manual. If you just need something that works, this watch is an excellent choice.

Nice refinements to a solid sports watch
This is probably my fifth or sixth version of this watch. They have lasted from two years to about four or five years and are generally quite reliable.I wouldn't have needed a new one except when I removed the last battery, I couldn't get the buttons to work when I put the thing together! Each time I buy this watch, it tends to get a bit better. The exception is that the previous version had small buttons that looked like they would fail (they did) and required you to push fairly hard (they were undersized). Anyway, this version has nice improvements. The buttons are bigger (too big, IMHO) and easier to push. I haven't had any issues with them being overly sensitive as other reviewers have. I wear the watch on my left wrist a little below my actual wrist. The buttons that could prove troublesome are on the left edge of the watch and wouldn't be an issue unless you wore it on your right wrist (and had big hands). I have had to adjust to light pressure on the buttons, though. The alarm is louder than the last version and the indigo light works on the numbers rather than illuminating the entire screen. I have only used the alarm and chronograph (with split times) and both work just fine. I took previous versions diving (they are not diving watches) and they survived. No reason to believe this version would be different. All in all, I am quite pleased with this version!

My New Favorite Watch
I've had it for two days and compared it to my Casio Men's DW5600E G-Shock repeatedly. I just like this one better and I'm shocked - no pun intended. Durability is the biggest question in my mind - so time will tell - but at least I can read the numbers on this easily and user interface is awesome - better than expected on a watch at this price. Here's what I really love about this watch: - 50% lighter than the g-shock - Sightly thinner - it's close though - I can actually read the numbers - my eyes aren't what they used to be and the Timex numbers are a good 50% larger than my g-shock. - Fantastic contrast of numbers against background: much better than my g-shocks - the background is whiter - so easier to read. - Smoother, sleeker design and a few mm thinner makes all the difference with my dress shirts - I think it's the sleekness more than just being thinner. It doesn't 'catch' on my shirt sleeves - which I find very annoying about my two g-shocks unfortunately. Additional Pros - Buttons are easier to work with than the G-shock. (could be a con though - we'll see) - User interface feels more modern and intuitive. - Dual time zone and easy, intuitive switching is really nice - Band is thinner and seems a better fit for my thinner wrists - Band lock: I was annoyed at first like some else said. But, now I really like it. It locks in the band strap nicely so there's no movement at all. If you're someone who removes your watch a lot, you may be annoyed. If you don't, you'll probably love this. - Indiglo 8-hour night mode is pretty cool - jury is still out on this one - but I think I like it. - Very inexpensive - disposable in fact. Cons - Buttons are easy to press. It's more of a 'pro' for me right now but I just bought this a few days ago and can see how it may become a 'con' like some other reviewers mentioned. Time will tell and I will definitely edit my review if this becomes an issue. At the moment I like how much easier they are to deal with compared to my G-shocks. - Durability: potential con - I couldn't find any reviews addressing how long these last. This feels less substantial than your average g-shock watch. But, they're super cheap so even a couple of years would be nice. But, the g-shocks last forever and even if you beat on them, they still look great. This one - I don't know - I hope it proves to be indestructible like the g-shocks but it doesn't feel as industrial strength. Time will tell. It's so light, maybe it just feels less rugged comparatively but it will be just as good. It's a keeper for now - but if the watch face (acrylic?) ends up being anywhere near as rugged as the G-shocks - I'll be a very happy camper.

NOT waterproof or resistant
NOT waterproof NOT water resistant. Stopped working entirely when on my wrist in 3 feet of water for 30 minutes. Also, hard to find light button so you wind up guessing in the dark, so when the light does illuminate, lord knows what the watch shows.

Timex Watches not as reliable as in the past
I’ve owned many Timex watches over the years and was mostly happy with them—they held up well to boats, water, and field work, and usually I’d lose or damage them before they wore out. But over the last 5 years, the quality has clearly declined. The light now fails within 2 years and can’t be fixed. My most recent purchase (Feb 2024) lost its light after just 7 months, and now it won’t even keep time. Very disappointed, especially given the rising prices. I’ll be looking for a new waterproof watch for work.

Great watch, great value
I needed a simple, functional watch for everyday use. I typically prefer a watch that is waterproof so I don't have to worry. This watch is light, simple, and great for anytime, any environment use. It is great for work, play, or anything in-between. I read reviews about it before purchasing - the buttons on the sides are sensitive but I haven't had a single issue so far with them. The watch is easy to set time and run stopwatch. It's just great. Enough said.

I bought this for my husband who thinks this watch is great - not to complicated for a 68 year old to work out too!
