How far apart are the holes on the handle ??

there is one hole in the center ad shown in the picture.

To be Clear is this just 1 single handle or 1 "set" that has two handles?

This is one single handle, and the hardware to install it. Hope this helps

Can this be used as a lid handle?

Probably. But why. It has those little hooks to hold tools. There is only one screw holding the handle halves together on the bracket, so give it a try! Pretty much it seems all Weber handles are interchangeable. I have two old(er) red Webers with wood handles. I have replaced one of those with the new ' plastic grey' handles. The wood was showing too much age with cracking and the coating had been gone for G knows how long. the other ones I have sanded, recoated, oiled and put away for a later day. I also have some spare new handles; gray round, gray 'squared', and a few of the dark gray (black) ones. For me: 'Spares are good'; spare wheels, spare handles, spare vent wings, spares!!.
