Music for Yoga

This is a very good CD for relaxation and chilling out at home after a long day at the office. All 7 of the recording artists who perform the 12 selections on the CD are in top form and the music varies from chants or flute solo, to synthesized space music. However, I don't think it is the right CD for meditative yoga. For example, Randy Armstrong's two selections were a bit too influenced by jazz and improvisation and this made them less appropriate for quite meditation. I found 5 selections that would work for meditative yoga practice but many of the others were a bit too vocal or too jazzy to enduce meditation and quiet. The five selections I think were right for meditation were Air Oil by Peas, Opening and Devotion by Stephen DeRuby and Plant and Misty by Kitaro.

This CD is a wonderful compilation for relaxation, meditation, or to use in a yoga class. I teach yoga and am always looking for appealing music. This has wonderful arrangements, a nice mix of vocal and instrumental, and some hints of ethno/world music. The only drawback is that it's just shy of an hour (about 57 minutes), so if you use it to teach a one-hour class you'll probably have to play a track twice, or let it go back to the beginning. But that's cool. It's all good for multiple listenings!

Very nice mix of music for my yoga class. I use this album for a more gentle flow rather than my power yoga class. It doesn't quite last the full hour of my class but that's ok, I will add another song to my playlist. There are some really pretty songs on here.

Great for yoga. It took me a couple of times to appreciate it, but once I did, I was hooked. Thanks for the great music experience.

I am a yoga teacher always looking for new music for my classes and this cd is wonderful, soothing as well as a bit faster in the middle after you have warmed up and then back to slower more peaceful music for final relaxation.

I must have loved this so much that I ordered it again. It is very peaceful and each song is worthy to be on the CD. I cant believe I ordered the same one, it has been awhile ago tho' :)
