Yes. A long extension cord will be exactly what you need. That way you will be able to have control over power getting to the motor. Also, a disco barn is EXACTLY what the world needs! Good luck with it.

Q: How far of a radius does the motor rotate? Does it rotate from 0-360 degrees then reverse? I want to mount a laser light to this...

It just does the 360...over and over again; no reverse. It is basically meant for a slow turning mirror ball. I actually have a small world globe hung from mine.

Q: Will it become hot if running for a long time?

No, I’ve let it run for 18-24hrs no issues
