I've been studying talking clocks ever since Brookstone released the best talking clock to this day in 2001- no joke. What I like about this one is that you can quickly/easily disassemble and open the side to reveal the LED which lights the face-- and then permanently SNIP IT OFF. The clock will continue to function perfectly except your bedroom can stay completely black in the middle of the night after you get the time, and then drift back to sleep without optical stimulation. Light is well know by doctors to interfere with sleep for some people, but alas clock makers haven't figured this out yet. I've never seen a clock that DOESN'T light up the face when you activate the talking.Anyway this clock has other benefits too. Its small with a big enough face, just the right volume (still audible if you wear ear plugs), battery operated (so you don't have to worry about losing the alarm if the power goes out), and I like that it DOESN'T tell you the temperature but just quickly relates the time in a clear voice. And then of course-- it's good for the price. If you really like style then Braun make an elegant, expensive talking clock. But personally, I appreciate this one.

I have this announcing the hour from 7 am to 9 pm. It helps with my time blindness.

It is small , but was easy to set up. Easy for low vision people to use. Bar across top to press on makes it easy to turn alam off. Pushing the bar at the top of the clock also lights where the time is displayed nice feature. Tells time,day, and date great for people with low vision.

This clock is everything that others are not and I do want and am so happy with. It is so easy to read, the sound is perfect and super easy to set the time and alarm. great size too so there is room for it by the bed or couch. I had one for a very long time and it is still working (years later) . Many i purchased would just stop working in half the time this one still works great. So i ordered another one as a back up or to use in different room and for travel. Price great too and i think it's a small family company but not sure of that.

I rarely take the time to write reviews anywhere, but this device has infuriated me to the point to where I feel that I should leave a review for others that may be interested in shopping for a talking digital alarm clock. I think I may have set this clock more than 10 times thinking that I may have somehow set it improperly but this darn clock will not keep accurate time. It always, always, always manages to become greater than five minutes or more ahead of time, which is absolutely, not what I want. I wanted it to announce the hour, on the hour, accurately and correctly. In addition, when you attempt to set this clock, it has an approximately 15 second delay, that is forced internally, that will not start the minute hand that starts the timekeeping, when you press the set button after setting the hour and minute that you want. I'm not sure why it was designed this way, but the engineers who designed the schematic for this thing, either neglected to put an accurate and/or high quality quartz crystal inside, or never included one to begin with, or used somehow shoddy materials. Please, for the love of everything that is good in this world, do not buy this. It is so frustratingly annoying. i've tried all sorts of different batteries, rechargeable, and quality brands such as energiser, Duracell, and even Amazons choice brand batteries. This still will not keep accurate time. What's the point of having a Clock, if it does not keep accurate time? and so in summary, I am writing this review, because I am actually shopping for a new talking clock from Amazon., at the time of the writing of this review. Perhaps this time, I need to pay closer attention to written reviews. I certainly hope you take this one to heart.

Looks nice easy to read time but time announcements are difficult and gobbled to understand.

The media could not be loaded. I remember several years back I was looking for something like this every so often but could never find one, decided to search again and saw that this came out last year.I bought this for my aunt and I find it really nice, easy to read and the functions are good. You can set it up to have it tell you what time it is each hour 24/7 or each hour excluding bedtime or just only tell you when you press the button. When you press the button not only does it tell you the time but it also lights up the screen for a few seconds (as shown in my video).
