I adore this journal! I've had mine for a month or two and the outside still looks like new! I accidentally ordered two and planned on returning one but Im for sure going to keep both now. I ordered this to use as a book journal, my Micron pens work really well on the durable, thick pages and the color of the pages is beautiful. I like my pages not to be bright white but not too yellow and the color of the pages is a perfect warm creamy color, lines are good size but don't look like something a preschooler would write on and are seeable but don't stand out on the page like a sore thumb. The exterior (I ordered the leather looking one) is nice quality and color is good. Mine has no scratches or showable wear and tear but I haven't been very rough with it and it doesn't go outside of my house much but I imagine you could travel with it or something of that sort and it would hold up just fine. The packaging is nice (there is a thin layer of plastic on the outside of the box it comes in but I dont know what they could have substituted for it and thats expected, other then that the packagings fairly frugal when it comes to plastic) if you are giving it as a gift the box is nice, and there logo is neatly printed on front (it just nice touches and small details that show quality). There's a pocket in the back and a elastic band to secure the journal, I didn't need these but something to keep in mind if your using it in a office or something like that. Binding is great and durable doesn't bend the pages along with it. Believe it or not Im actually not a journal fanatic, when I look for a book journal I just want something thats fairly durable with a decent cover and a nice exterior design since my book journals quickly have become keepsakes, but this journal just had me so EXCITED! It is so lovely and the quality is so NICE and thoughtful, even down to the last details. I also love that Im not buying from China which is probably why the quality is so nice on this journal. I like to consider myself a environmentalist and from my thin layer of research and experience the company seems like it didn't jack up our environment making their products. I'm am really impressed by this product and although I'm not a huge review writer or 5 star giver this journal deserves every bit of praise I gave it, I didn't have any expectations when I bought this (I was just happy to find a good journal after HOURS of looking and not being able to go into a bookstore to look at some in person), so don't expect rainbows to be shooting out of the pages after buying it, but just know that this is a good purchase and if your buying it to give to someone else anyone (unless their a journal hater) would be happy to have this. Use your own judgement and have a good day!

This is a lovely, well-made journal! I have been writing poetry for years and never wrote in a journal. Sometimes the best thoughts cannot wait, so I have written them down as they came to me....on little bits of scrap paper, on large and small Post-Its, on the back of receipts, on yellow legal pads and printer paper, etc. I decided it is time to get a proper journal, and this one is perfect for an excellent price. The leather is very good quality (I purchased the large size with a soft cover), and the size is ideal -- not too large and not too small. It is not precisely "stay flat", but if you bend it slightly, it can be....so you don't need to hold it down with one hand while writing. The soft-sided leather works well for this. I have more than one business portfolio with hard covers and never use them because they are too large and/or not comfortable to carry around. I know I will make good use of this one. The lined paper is nice, too, although I have an odd preference for grid paper (Beechmore: hint, hint ;) and would have liked to have had an option (choice) for that because the journal is not removable, as well as plain paper because I tend to "doodle as I think". The journal came in excellent and thoughtful packaging with the ribbon positioned so that it would be easy to remove it from the box. Having said that, I put the journal back in the box after I removed the tissue paper, and it took several minutes to get it out! I even turned the box upside down, and that didn't help. In the end, I was able to remove it from the box using a cheese spreader. Beechmore: Having your rigid boxes made with a small half-moon-shaped cut-out on the long sides will make it easier to remove the lid in this instance. Although I probably will not use the elastic band affixed to the back cover, I know I will use the ribbon. It is nice having both, however. Having said all of this, the journal will get good use from me and make an excellent gift.

These are high quality notebooks. Binding is solid, pages are thick. If you want to use ink and write notes or journal entries to last, this is a good choice. I returned mine though. I wanted something with graph paper, and don't need thick paper for penciled engineering notes. Beechmore seems to me to be the best product out there for journaling or writing to be saved for a long time.

Bought as a journal for our wedding officiant. Its super sturdy, the cover is soft and the pages are gorgeous. Looks good enough to be photographed! Little expensive but in my opinion totally worth it.

The construction of the book is solid, heavy pages that are perforated near the binding for easy removal, the most fantastic packaging I've ever seen on a book that wasn't a Bible, and an attractive cover. So what keeps this from getting five stars? Well, the cover has these tiny points of raised "leather." If these catch on your hand, as mine did, they are popped off and the white sub-base shows through - made all the more obvious on my charcoal black purchase. Also, the banner that was wrapped around my book (shown in photos of product) became bonded to the "leather" at the edge where you grab the cover to open the journal and it pulled off some of the "leather" in a line leaving a white line where it should be cover color (I bought the charcoal black). Having said all that, the overall construction and high quality paper make it worth keeping and overlooking the white points and line. I'm going to hit them with a black Sharpie and I'll be the only one who knows.

It's a nice little notebook. It fits in my purse. It is well made and very useful. I hang my pen from the back; there is no pen holder. But it works because of the strap that holds the book closed.

Came packaged nicely. Paper feels good. So does cover. Haven’t written in it yet, but so far 5/5

A fabulous journal which I purchased as a present. Comes in a presentation box making it a lovely gift. The recipient was very pleased with it, it is very good quality and has a very useful back page pocket.
