This battery replaced a factory intalled one that finally died. I will admit it was a bit confusing to find the right one. When searching I entered replacement battery for an HP Envy 17 inch laptop and several different types came up. I finally decided to take the back off the laptop to get exactly what I needed. I'm sure glad I did. It turned out that the replacement battery wasn't any of the ones that came up on my search. After entering the correct replacement number this one came up, bought it, took less than 5 minutes to install, since I left the back unattached, charged it and my laptop is good to go. Have no idea how long this one will last but it's cost effective and easy to replace.

In addition I needed a charge port and ended up needing to replace the charger cord as well for the connection to be reliable. Battery seems to be working just fine and was easy to replace and a perfecr fit.

Easy to install

Very easy to install once I found extra screws behind rubber strip on laptop bottom. Older model but battery easy to install and the screw drivers included were perfect. Back up and running

This was a drop in replacement for the original battery. After installing it charged right up and is working great.

Installation was a bit tricky due to HP hiding screws under the non-slip footing - once the laptop was open swapping the batteries was fairly easy.Battery never charged correctly (at all). I thought it could be the charging unit, but replacing the charger did not fix the problem, and further HP diagnostics said the battery has a bad cell.Long story short, this "new" battery was broken on arrival, which has me annoyed for my lost time and money. I would return, but the return window ended while I was trying to troubleshoot the charger.

It was what I needed and delivered earlier than expected

Battery arrived on time and the included tools were a welcome surprise. The installation was straight forward with the exception of the hard drive module sticking to the cover base instead of staying on the motherboard where it was connected via ribbon cable. Damage to cable/connector from strain was the danger, but the connector lock disengaged first. Next time I'll know to look for this exception and free the drive from the base before fully removing the base.I had neglected to pay attention to the Amp-hour capacity of the original battery and ordered one with less capacity. It's working fine but won't have the life per charge that a larger capacity battery would provide. The trade off is that the smaller capacity battery was less expensive (and probably slightly lighter), but had I been more aware I would have purchased a higher capacity battery.
