Advantages:1) As long as you dimple the surface with a punch, the centering piece eliminates bit skating, in contrast to a conventional HSS drill bit of equal size.2) The hole cutting bits are very efficient, and significantly reduce the time it takes to penetrate the steel, in contrast to a conventional HSS drill bit.3) As advertised, it does not leave rough burrs.Disadvantages:1) It is sometimes necessary to use a vice grip to release the hole cutting bit from the washer / arbor base after use.Reason for purchase:To efficiently cut holes in 1/8" thick steel plate. It efficiently did the job I needed it to.

These cutters are fantastic. I have the large hole cutter set as well and they are worth the extra cost. Just completed installing a gooseneck trailer hitch on a truck and the truck owners took pictures of the set so they could buy one! Follow the simple instructions and they will last a long time.

Had to cut 40 holes in a steel auto frame, would have gone through a dozen hardware store hole saws. The 3/4" rotobroach happily cut it's way through with a little lubrication. I did finally break one of the teeth off, but even then I was still able to finish the project as the remaining teeth cut just fine.

I bought for stock to replace the ones in my kit when they eventually wear out. I have only used them for a few months before winter hit but they worked well and better then Harbor Freight tool that is a double sided saw hole design. Which I could not unscrew to flip the head over but the Blair's don't jam. Mike Solberg would say "you buy junk you ride junk". Blair lube works great too.
