So I have this thing with with cabbage, it's messy, it's hard to deal with, it's hard to clean up, and it's annoying. However I want to eat it. The purple cabbage gets purple all over my counters. And I'd like it shredded small for coleslaw which is a pain. I told you I had problems but no more. I'd been looking for a device to help with this problem and while this product was not very expensive, I took my chances and I'm so glad I did. It even made a believer out of, my mother. Which was a feet all of it's own. So these are the things I like the most, it's simple. It's easy to get out, it's easy to put together. It's also very quick, it does the job and it's easy to clean. Now it could be a bit sturdier but I'm giving it a perfect review because I bought a cost saving product, and it more than does it's job. It only specializes in fine shredding and I'm okay with that as well. So all that to tell you...It's quick and easy and effective. BUY IT and make some coleslaw. Add a carrot for color. Then slice up the finest cucumbers you'll ever eat. I love it and you will too!

Does the job. Makes my life so much easier. Very sturdy and has gone through the dishwasher many times so dishwasher safe. Easy to store and light weight.

This cheese grater works really well! It’s sharp, sturdy, and makes grating cheese quick and easy. I’ve used it for different types of cheese and it handles everything smoothly. It’s also easy to clean, which is a big plus. Definitely a great addition to my kitchen aid

This shredder attachment works perfectly with the KitchenAid stand mixer I have. It is easy to install by just lifting the round metal emblem at the front of the mixer. You need to make sure you tighten the knob or else the shredder will not have a good fit with the machine. I use this attachment mainly for shredding cheese blocks so that we don't have to buy pre-shredded cheese. The cheese can be a bit sticky and the blades can get stuck especially if some cheese gets stuck between the body of the shredder and the blade. I wish there was a tab at the end of the blade cone that I could grab to help remove it for cleaning especially when working with stickier foods. This attachment has lasted us about 3 years now and is still going strong. We wash it in the top rack of the dishwasher after the 3 parts have been separated.

Absolutely love this shredder. We are avid parmesan eaters in my house and this shredder can shred an entire block in mere seconds. It has been nice shredding cheese without having to fear accidentally shredding my knuckles. As such, it has quickly become my favorite KitchenAid attachment. My few complaints: - When shredding harder cheeses, it always leaves a pretty sizeable chunk of cheese leftover that it is unable to shred due to the odd design of the piece you use to push the cheese down onto the blades. - The slicer attachment slices vegetables oddly thin and unevenly because the inserts are not perfectly round/are not the same round shape as the funnel. All inserts kind of flop around in the funnel because of this. Regardless of the above complaints, it works well for how our family uses it. If you are looking for a slicer to slice vegetables, I would say look elsewhere because it does not perform well with vegetables.

I’ve had this grater for about 7 months now. I use it often and it is a HUGE time saver. It goes together and comes apart easily and quickly, and all of it goes in the dishwasher after use. It grates 2 pounds of cheese in a matter of a couple minutes, it probably takes me longer to slice the block into pieces that will fit in the feeder chute than it actually takes to shred the cheese. I regularly use this to shred all varieties of cheese, frozen butter (great for biscuits and pie crusts), and carrots. I primarily only use the large and medium grater cones. I’ve only ever used the slicer for cabbage, but that was honestly more of a pain than it was worth to cut it into small enough chunks to feed in, and I’ll probably stick to cutting cabbage up by hand. I have never used the smallest grater cone. That being said, it does have it’s flaws. My biggest complaint is that the blade cones are not particularly secure on the attachment. You fit the opening in the end of the grater cone over the star shaped piece inside the housing and turn it slightly. There is no click, there is nothing actually holding the blade in. Most of the time it still works fine, but occasionally I have had the blade pop off of the star piece and either just stop spinning, or come out of the housing entirely. This mostly happens when I am trying to grate something harder, like carrots, but it has happened on occasion with cheese. I’ve since seen other models with a piece that screws on to the end of the cone shaped opening to help keep the blade piece in, that seems like it would be a good idea. The complaint about bits of food sticking between the housing and the grater cone and not getting grated doesn’t bother me as much. I really don’t think you could find an attachment like this where that doesn’t occur. There has to be space between the housing and the grater cone in order for the cone to be able to spin, any time there is space that’s going to allow for the end bits of the food you’re pushing down the feeder chute to get stuck on the side. The amount is minimal and I usually just pull it out and use a knife to chop it up. All in all, this product has made shredding things for cooking so much easier, it has held up well over the past 7 months with frequent use and many trips through the dishwasher. While the design could be improved I don’t regret buying it, but maybe they can refine the design a little for future models to make the grater cones more secure.

I have pasta roller and cutter attachments for my KitchenAid mixer that I got sometime ago. We have been into a diet plan recently and so this new attachment looked very useful for helping make salad. So, we bought it. We have already used it a handful of times in the past several days and this attachment works great. The main attachment goes into the machine and then the cutter, slicer, grater blades go into the attachment. All these blades work great right now because they are new at this time. However, the overall quality of steel and finishing looks great, so they should keep working nicely for at least a couple of years. Salad making gets much easier with this attachment and we are happy with the purchase. Highly recommended. Decent price (we paid $51) considering the overall usage and value that we get.

pretty good product for the price! It shreds and slices very well I was quite impressed, however, such a shame there is always the last big chunk of veggie that didn't get caught and in left. I was just disappointed to see how quickly the plastic would be stained even with just carrots despite washing it straight away. I will see in the long run if the plastic get worn out/scratched where the shredder turns. If yes I would get a whole stainless steel one.
