Great value and performance.
I was skeptical but it turned out to be really decent. Gives a nice finish if you're setup properly. Didn't howl into 1018 cold rolled. I played around a bit with it. I was not hitting center just right a time or two but was able to get it adjusted and reconfirm the tool is solid if we have it set well. Carbide that came with it is superb, so far so good. Leaves a very nice finish at the right feed speeds. I used mine in an open face holed and it done very well. The finish on the tool body is resistant to scratching like a hardened one should be. Very heavy and would buy again in a larger size and a smaller one. Well done.

Great tool ,well made , works perfect.

Great bang for your buck.
For a 30$ boring bar this works great. There is some spring and some give, its not a solid carbide bar and its not a 200$ bar. Work accordingly and it will cut fine.

Excellent Product overall with a couple of minor faults...
Very well built and finished. Minus One Star for a technical fault: The "Depth Scale" etched on the boring bar is marked incorrectly in inches - it appears to be marked in 2mm (measured) increments. The numbers are meaningless and the depth marks are confusing (see photo). They ~did~ etch what type of insert you need on the boring bar, we well as supply a decent quality insert with it so you won't have to rummage through documentation to get replacement inserts.

Ridgid
I've only used it on aluminum so far. I needed to reach in a little over 6" or 155mm on 1"1/8 or 28mm id. I got the job done with no chatter and a nice finish. I'm surprised and happy with the performance. Used on 12" manual lathe.

A nice boring bar for the money
A nice 1/2" boring bar that I generally re purpose by shortening for my boring head

A quality 3/8" shank boring bar
An added bonus is the 3" scale embossed on the top of the boring bar (which was not included in the description). It made the project easy. The bar has adequate rigidity to avoid excess flex. The flex consistency (very little "push") made boring to the final bore diameter quick to obtain. A very good purchase.

I bought this to use with my benchtop lathe. It's maiden voyage was cutting some hardened 4140 and it did very well. So well that I tried using it for facing, and later OD turning with near mirror-like finishes. The insert has held up to some interrupted cuts in 1.5" hex stock as well. I hoped this little tool would work, but I was surprised at how well it works, even on my underpowered small lathe. It takes turning hardened steels from a chore, to do-able.
