My monitor is 18lbs. Any chance this will work?

I put my 34" LG 34um95c monitor (weighs 23 lbs) and it's fine. You just have to tighten the arm joint with the supplied allen wrench and it holds well. Arm moves up, down, left and right without any issue holding the weight.

From a bird's eye view can the arm/monitor be rotated 360 degrees (around the Z axis)? Or does it just rotate 360 around portrait/landscape axis?

The arm can rotate 360 degrees around the base (barring any restrictions from the cables). The monitor can only rotate about 180 degrees around the mounting point on the arm. I hope this makes sense...

Does this comewith screws to mount the monitor?

yes, it comes with 3 sets of screws of 3 sizes to cover most all monitors i can only assume. love mine. mike

Has anyone tried this with a glass desk? I have a 1/4 inch thick glass desk for reference. Or would adding some plank to the clamp be an alternative?

I tried it with the glass standing desk from Costco and it works fine, I put a book (or a piece of wood, or something) between the clamp and the desk to distribute the stress better and I feel comfortable with it. I tried it directly on the glass and it didn't crack, but it was making me nervous. Just put something wider than the normal base in between to prevent scratching and spread out the stress on the glass.
