I've waited years for someone to come out with an electric lock that works on Anderson Patio Doors (swinging kind). This is purpose built for that. It installs easily. You have to enlarge one of the existing holes in the door, but it's something that is covered up even if you want to go put the original hardware back on. Comes with a little bluetooth-wifi bridge which you can use or not. Supposedly with the bridge, the batteries last longer. I use LiON rechargeables and it's pretty easy to swap them as needed. Works with Homekit and Yale/Schlages app. Only downside is there is no key backup (they warn you about this). There is a pair of external power contacts in case the battery is dead and you are locked out.

Installation was very quick and easy. The lock has a modern, seamless look. Simply touch the lock, type in your code and the door locks. If the door is unlocked simply touch the screen and the door locks - no need for keys! The batteries last for about 9 months with daily use and the lock lets you know if the batteries are low with plenty of warning. Overall a great electronic lock!

Update September 2023 I purchased SwitchBot Lock and it works for this door! It is way cheaper and has trivial installation. Works perfectly and highly recommend! Update August 2023 I rarely do a follow up review but I felt like I had to in this case as I was unable to get any traction with Yale support. The lock stopped working. The knob kept on turning freely without locking the door. Seemed like an actuator has gone bad. I contacted Yale and they asked me to take a video of the lock when it is removed off of the door. I complied. The lock seems to be working fine. I also checked that the door mechanism itself works - it does. Yale told me it is out of warranty But this lock is actually advertised as lifetime warranty on mechanical components. I explained that to the support folks but they kept on repeating that the problem is electronic and it is not! I am very disappointed in Yale - I will not be purchasing anything from themin the future. Original Review I just installed this lock on my Frenchwood patio door. It was super easy to do, I only had to enlarge one exisiting hole from 3/8 to 1/2 inch so that the wire connector would fit throught it. The instructions were clear and it all works perfectly with the multipoint lock that we have on the door.

First, congrats on making the first lock for andersen 3 point locking doors. The lock itself is nicely designed, well built, and comes with great instructions and all of the parts for installing it. Second, Yale is absolutely HORRIBLE on documentation for anything to do with Wifi, bluetooth, setting up codes, Apple Homekit, etc. Horrible. There was not a single word of documentation in the package on any of this. If you go online, it's not much better. There is NO online documentation for the smart features of this lock. They make a lot of locks and each one works differently, so you have to try to find something close and guess. After a couple of hours trying different techniques, I ended up calling Yale. They walked me through repeating what I have already been doing. Then they said call Apple. I called Apple and they didn't know either. In desperation, I asked chatgpt and got a clear understanding of how this stuff works and my problem is solved. The module that installs in the lock itself is a bluetooth/wifi module the MD-05. They also provide a plug in block which is a wifi bridge. The wifi bridge talks bluetooth to the MD-05 so that the batteries in the lock last longer. The wifi in the lock does not talk to Homekit, only the bluetooth talks to homekit. SO, if you want to only use the YALE app, you should set up the lock and add the lock and the bridge through the app. If you want to use Homekit, you need a homekit bridge (appletv, homepod) to talk bluetooth directly to the lock. If you are using Homekit and NOT the Yale app, you don't need the Yale Bridge. Clear?

The build quality is excellent, and the lock performs reliably after a precise installation. The included installation instructions could be improved—they may not be entirely clear for the average DIYer—but they’re manageable with some patience. One tip: before installing, make sure your door is properly aligned and has even gaps on all sides. A well-adjusted door will make all the difference in how smoothly the lock operates and how good it looks once installed.

Bought one and had to return because it was defective. Yale support was a bit annoying but ultimately they replaced it. When it works- the product is good. Looks good and functions well

I installed the locks myself on my Andersen doors at my Airbnb. The only complaint I have is that you can’t change the configuration unless you are physically in Bluetooth or wifi range. Also having to have a bridge to communicate as a separate piece of hardware is definitely cutting edge like some other manufacturers. But the ability to monitor lock activity and change pass codes remotely works very well. It is also very helpful to have door position sensor to tell if the door is actually closed or open. These are very pricey but they were the only solution that allowed direct replacement on my doors.

It is misleading to say that this does not work with 400-series doors (black label). This works great on a 400-series door. the only limitation is that you need to lift the handle before can lock the door (manually or electronically).
