Monoprice S/PDIF (Toslink) Digital Optical Audio Cable, 5.0mm Outside Diameter, Gold Plated Ferrule, 6 Feet, Black

I needed a bit longer Toslink cable for my home system to add options for sound connections to the recently purchased TV from LG. Item arrived fast, well packaged with protectors for the connectors. Works just fine and will remain connected for a long time, so I'm not expecting any problems in the future.

Works very well

This toslink cable works well, I use it to connect devices like playstation's and tv's to my surround sound.

Everything you expect from Monoprice - good basic stuff, no gold plating, no fuss.

It’s thick, it works, it was a great bargain. Remember not to bend them.

Works like it should

I purchased this in hopes that it would improve the sound quality of music played through my smart TV's sound bar/sub. Holy crap the difference is insane! Originally I had the sound bar connected to my TV through an HDMI cable. I didn't notice any sound issues for games and movies. But music definitely sounded flat like like a pancake. For example, there was hardly any bass, even when cranked to the max. Playing music from my phone via Bluetooth sounded great, so I knew it wasn't an issue with my soundbar/sub. Well, I know that optical cables produce less loss than HDMI so I gave this a shot. Holy crap the difference is insane! I replaced the HDMI connection from TV to soundbar with this optical cable and... WOW! It sounds just as good, if not even better, than the Bluetooth connection. I almost thought I'd have to spend hundreds of dollars upgrading to a full-blown sound system, but oh no. Just using this simple cable made everything so much better. Best cable purchase I've ever made,hands down! Monoprice is a recognizable brand and I have zero complaints about this cable. Get this one. It's so very worth it! (not paid for this review nor given the cable for free, just a very happy customer!)

Value for money

Got the Toslink cable, plugged it into the TV and my Bose Soundbar; what I noticed straight away was that at lower volumes the sound was more audible and when turned up there was more detail and the overall sound was crisper, I was using a Monster cable which was more expensive but the Monoprice cable is a great improvement with more of a surround sound too, well pleased with the purchase!

Although the description doesn't say, these are actually 6 foot cables, (I ordered on faith and had my fingers crossed). I have them both working and no issues at this time. If they fail in the near future I will post an update

Llevo usandolo por 3 meses y el sonido es muy bueno. Facil de conectar al xbox y a las bocinas.

I did not use this for its intended purpose, but it was fun to shine a low powered laser through and be able to bend the light.
