ACDelco Gold 337-1078 (88877177) Starter

Just installed this on my 97 Cherokee xj and so far working perfectly

After looking around locally for a replacement starter for my 1990 Jeep Wrangler with the 4.2 engine, I realized it would have to be shipped in anyway, they wanted a core deposit, and the cost was still high. I purchased this starter for twenty bucks less than I could get it locally. The quality is excellent and it installed without issue. Starting is quiet and turnover is quick. I have no reservations about recommending this unit.

This starter stopped working after 19 months. Not completely unbelievable, but what is unbelievable is the warranty. This starter has a 2 year warranty through AC Delco. Pretty great, right? Hold yer horses there partner. Amazon only gives you a 30 day return window. Yep. If you want to take advantage of your 2 year warranty, you have to do it within 30 days. Amazon offers “product support”, which is to direct you to call AC Delco. But wait….there’s more! AC Delco will tell you that you have to return it through the seller! And around and around we go! The manufacturer warranty is worthless after 30 days. If you want a starter that is only guaranteed to work for 30 days, then buy this one.

I was a little skeptical because I bought the used-very good version. But it looked new and it was easy to install. My stock have oil all over because of an oil leak. But my car crank time has definitely decreased.

Been awhile since I was able to to use My Jeep but problems fixed since I received the starter . It has been working great in the last 2 months .

Correct fit for 1998 Jeep TJ Wrangler 6 CYL 4.0. Appears to be a genuine ACDelco. I must admit I was apprehensive about using a ACDelco (GM) replacement part on my Jeep Mopar. Fear not, perfect fit for above Jeep 4.0. I went from slow starting; chug, chug, chug, chug, chug-vroom. To chug-vroom. Replaced (4) slow chugs with one fast chug then vroom.

Easy to remove and install. This price is Great. Next day delivery with prime.

La instale en una Cherokee XJ 1989, le quedó muy bien, se ve de muy buena calidad, como suele ser AC DELCO, también funciona muy bien. Con el tiempo veremos su durabilidad.

Works well on my 1997 Wrangler TJ

It works great! Fast starts. Inside my last starter, the brushes were "stuck" due to rust i think from crossing deeper water. This starter has the tube to let water drain out of the starter motor. AC Delco quality name may mean a better starter. I hope it lasts many years.

Came fast and worked as it should. Zero drama would buy again.

Mated up as expected. Fired up immediately with lots of torque.
