Good reference
I used this when setting up a bridge and it turned out perfect, and was surprising easy to do, thanks to this handy reference tool. Must have for fiddle shops.

It's good
It's a good quality product but not quite as useful as I thought it would be. All measurements on it seem to be accurate. But it's black which makes it hard to see and use on a black ebony fingerboard. It was useful for shaping the top of the bridge and spacing the strings on the bridge and I'm glad I got it for that reason. but it is harder to use on the ebony nut.

Handy tool
This is a handy tool for my amateur attempts at luthier chores. We don't have a luthier is town so this helps with my temporary fixes. Real luthiers are a bargain at any price...to me.

I had never set up a violin bridge before…
Made me look like a pro. Made a “box fiddle” and if I learn to play it as well as I put it all together I may play half-way decently. But I’m not holding my breath. I really want to learn Jay Unger’s “Ashokan Farewell.”

Nice toy
This gage has many possibly useful reference markings, but the finish is very easily damaged just in basic handling making it not very durable. Great care has to be considered in using this gage if you want it to last.

Great for measuring and spacing.
This product is excellent for ensuring you have the correct shape, spacing, and height for your strings. It would be better if it was make out of metal, but I can make a metal one.

Useful.
Does just what a bridge template should. Includes good figures for string height, template to shape bridge and space strings. Love it.
