This Grill griddle works just great just like all blue diamond products they cook well and their easy to clean up after. Love the grill griddle it's easy to put together cook take apart to clean grease wipes right off it's great for cooking for two but I wish it was a little bigger but I use it all the time especially because the three different plates that comes with it. Bought another one for a gift to my sister and she loves it just as much.

I only gave this 4 stars since I had to return the first one I ordered. The top plate would not lock in place, kept falling down. I tried the website listed on the description page but got Oops, address no good. I then went to the Blue Diamond website. They show the plates for the grill but not the machine itself. I don't know if they no longer make it or what. All that being said, the replacement grill works fine, no problem with the plates. I have made paninis, omelets and waffles with it. Other than the waffles not coming out as crispy as I like everything else has been great. Omelets are so easy and clean-up is a breeze.

I purchased one of these griddles from Amazon last week intending to use it as a waffle maker, as advertised. The unit is sold as "Sizzle Griddle with Grill and Waffle Plates". The waffle plates provided DO NOT FIT THE UNIT. Every time I lift the lid the top plate falls away from the upper retaining clip and exposes the heating element. The lower retaining clips on the lid do not fit into the notches in the plate, they're at least 3/16" away from the base of the plate. The retaining clips also came loose immediately, as they're not held in with anything but a cheap screw. Even after tightening all the loose parts the plates don't fit correctly. I am extremely dissatisfied with the performance and construction of the unit so far. I believe this a known issue, so why are the waffle plates designed so poorly/why has this design not been corrected? **UPDATE 10/26** Don't expect any support from the company. I have both called and emailed the number/address provided on the company website and have received no response for more than a week.

I got this to grill inside since this year has been either too hot, too rainy or too smoky outside. It came with grill plates, griddle plates and waffle plates! I've tried all 3 and they all work great. Cook evenly and well, easy to clean up by just wiping them down and then putting them in the dishwasher. The only thing that I would change would be to coat the back of the plates with something, because they are made of a metal that will rub off on your hands and leave some kind of black residue on them when you handle them. Not sure what it is, but it's kind of annoying. Otherwise, I'm still giving the product 5 stars for the way it cooked all the food I tried. Waffles came out perfectly, chicken grilled juicy and delicious and hamburgers griddled great!

I was hesitant to buy it with the mixed reviews, but they sell it at Costco, which means they stand behind the quality of it, so we gave it a shot. We've had it about a month now and have used it regularly. It's a sturdy, cute little thing that does exactly what it needs to do without taking up a ton of space. We're so happy about it! The negative reviews seem to be from people that don't use this as directed by the instruction manual. Heating: it heats in about 6min to high, which is perfectly reasonable. It's quicker than a stovetop. If you let it heat all the way first, there are no problems getting your food cooked hot. Plates & Cleaning: The plates aren't too heavy, but they do get a nice sear. I love that you can take them completely off for cleaning. The non-stick coating is fantastic. I LOVE that it's not Teflon. I would not put these in the dishwasher, as other reviews have mentioned about the backs not being coated, but they're so easy to clean it's not necessary. Wash with soap and water then put them back on to dry. Safety: They latch in and out with small hooks, using a button you have to hold down. You do have make sure they are secure, but this no big deal. I also like that you have to unplug it fully to turn it off. This thing gets HOT and it helps avoid accidental burns, particularly with kids around, by completely unplugging it when you're done.

Only used twice but, so far, not impressed. It's certainly lightweight, I like the option of having 3 different style, non-stick, easy to clean plates, and non-toxic. I like Blue Diamond products. But first made a panini, it took longer than expected time to cook/toast and cheese didn't fully melt. Second day, I used griddle flat to cook bacon and French toast. Took over 20 minutes to cook 3 pieces of bacon on high. Finally, after 20 mins, closed the unit to cook bacon separately. Just doesn't seem to heat up adequately, even after 6 min waiting to heat up. Will try it a few more times and update review. Disappointed.

We were given a similar Cuisinart grill a couple years ago, and absolutely hated it. Fortunately, it fell of the counter and broke into many pieces. So I was very skeptical when the other half said we should order this one. When this Blue Diamond grill arrived, I was surprised. It was much smaller than the Cuisinart monstrosity. It's the perfect size to grill 2 burgers, 2 steaks, or 2 skewers of chicken breast. The first time I used it, I was blown away. Instead of the 3 incomprehensible dials on that Cuisinart garbage, this has one dial to control the temperature. I intentionally cooked some burger patties with cheese and bacon mixed in to see how it handles sticky stuff like burned cheese. After dinner, I popped the plates off, hit them with some Dawn Power Wash and they nearly rinsed clean. Minimal light scrubbing with a wet dishrag and they were done. Pro's - Easy to clean! It's an excellent size when cooking for 2. The grease cup actually catches the run-off, unlike my George Foreman grills which seem to leak in places I never imagined. Con's - Not big enough if you're cooking for more than 2 people.
