Bigger and heavier than I expected. Suitable for large dogs.

I have had the dog bite pillow for a few weeks now and use it just for training. So far it has proven to be very durable and comfortable to use. My 26kg lab loves it!

Handles are very susceptible to damage, we didn’t let her chew but she would try grip the handles, nipping them and eventually the handles popped. (We would tell her leave when she did this and kinda put the pillow bit to her mouth) Had this since Christmas using everyday. The bite section itself is very sturdy but now showing signs of wear and tear, the handles were very easily nibbled through with my dog. My dog goes crazy for this bite pillow though, shes a mali x staffy so it really does scratch that genetic itch for her.

My 2 large dogs love this and drag each other round and do far it's in one piece

Poor quality binding, lasted 3x 20 min training sessions with my 6 month Doberman before the Center started to pull from the edge.

Holds well. Seems to be strong.

My one year old staffy pup done this in within five days of 15 minutes sessions each time

This product did not survive one short normal training session. Not fit for purpose and is more of a fetch or retrieve toy but NOT a bite pillow

Whilst not quite professional grade this bit pillow does the trick for my Mali. She loves it and will work with me until one of us tires. We're careful not to let her have it as a reward after a session for too long. She would quickly destroy it but used with care it's lasted well.

I always start my dogs with lure chasing or ball retrieval before I graduate them onto tug. Knowledgeable dog people will know why. Most dogs will want to grab the handles or your hands , that is natural . One has to patiently teach them to grab the center and then they must be immediately rewarded with you tugging. If the dog still goes for the ends or the handles then stop playing and keep everything still ( the "prey" is dead) . This pillow is sturdy and the handles are very comfortable. I use this toy only for instructive play ; I initiate the game and I also end it. This pillow is never left around for it is NOT a chew toy and not meant for the dog to self-soothe with. My initiating the tug game brings the pillow "to life" and that is why the dog's focus is on me.
