Zoom PodTrak P8 - The Ultimate Game-Changer for Podcast Production!
The Zoom PodTrak P8 has revolutionized my podcast production process. It's a feature-packed podcast recorder that blends superb audio quality, intuitive design, and portability into a device that is accessible for both beginners and seasoned professionals. The first thing that stands out is the sheer audio quality this recorder delivers. With six microphone inputs, it allows for clear and high-quality recording of multiple voices simultaneously. The preamps are incredibly clean, and the noise floor is impressively low, ensuring that your recordings are crisp and free from unwanted noise. The six headphone outputs are another noteworthy feature. This allows each guest to monitor their audio levels comfortably, which is especially useful during a multi-guest podcast recording. The individual volume controls are a thoughtful touch, allowing for a personalized listening experience for each participant. One of my favorite features is the color touchscreen interface. It's clear, responsive, and simplifies navigating the P8's myriad of options. This feature, coupled with the dedicated controls for each channel, makes the operation of this recorder remarkably intuitive, even for those new to podcasting. The unit's portability is another key advantage. Its compact size and the option to power it with AA batteries make the PodTrak P8 an excellent choice for on-the-go podcasters who often record outside of a traditional studio setting. Moreover, the build quality is solid, and the overall design is sleek and modern. It feels robust and durable enough to withstand the rigors of regular use. Also, the integrated sound pads for music or sound effects are a fantastic addition that can truly elevate your podcast's production quality. Given its professional-level features, robust build, and ease-of-use, the PodTrak P8 offers excellent value for money. Whether you're a seasoned podcaster or just starting, this device will undoubtedly enhance your production process and the overall quality of your podcasts.

Good product, easy to use
I am very happy overall with this recorder/mixer. The audio works well. The controls are intuitive and I think with the Zoom mics and headphones, the entire kit will provide a new user a great experience. For an advanced user, the lack of control will be frustrating. I think the build quality is good overall but the knobs and sliders feel a little fragile. I think it is worth investing in a case for it if it will be traveling or stored at all. The Bluetooth adapter works very well with my iPhone and the audio quality is great. I would recommend it. The recordings sound great and the editing features work well if you are working in the field and can’t access a pc. The editing is limited so expect that. I think this is perfect for hobbyists, schools, libraries, churches, public access media facilities. Essentially for anyone that doesn’t have the time or experience to use a higher end, more professional product.

May be a better unit at half the price.
I have been using in a mobile setting for last four months with no issues. I protect it with a CASEMATIX Mixer Hard Shell Travel Case. It's light. It's very very intuitive to use. I never had color coded channels/outputs/indicators before, now I don't want to work with anything else. Everything about it works like its supposed to. Making adjustments on various inputs to get better sound quality is easy. The digital sound effects are easy to add and assign. This should be your first choice if you are coming into podcasting and need to integrate more than two inputs. I can handle four commentators, a microphone collecting ambiance, audio from the computer, someone calling my phone (using the Zoom BTA-2) and play sound with no stress at all. This would be a nightmare on almost any small mixer.
