Soooo useful
This is a great thing to have full stop. I’ve used it for holding wires to solder but also to hold things in place while glueing them together. The base is quite heavy for its size and so it doesn’t topple over. It’s really easy to use. The magnetic bases of the arms are really strong and the flexible arms can be bent into pretty much any position and once set they remain where you put them. Really useful, well made and decent value bit of kit.

Excellent quality with powerful magnetic base.
KOTTO Third Hand Soldering Tool with Magnetic base and flexible arms is an essential component for soldering but I don't do much soldering now a days. I bought this for my product photography. I saw many product photographers using 3rd hand to hold products in place and later crop it out in post production. I am very impressed with this little helping hands. It comes with a heavy metal plate which is powder coated and the helping hands have flexible arms with powerful magnet to hold anything in place. Steel plate comes with non slip sticky pads to protect the surface from being scratched. It will last a life time and can be used in various ways for art and craft, for soldering and photography purposes. I am very happy with my purchase.

Works as expected
I assembled this out of the box with no problems. When finished there was a slight wobble due to the feet not all touching the bench. I have used similar rubber feet on projects and found this to sometimes be a problem. I placed a washer under one of the feet to correct this and the whole thing is now sturdy. I have only used this a couple of times so far and it is leagues ahead of the cheapo helping hand you often see for sale. I got fed up with my old one keep tipping or turning during use. This is quite weighty and does not seem to move around in use. If I should have any problems I will update the review in due course. I am confident that this will be prove a useful tool.

It's agreat third hand, it really helps hold things in place.
This little helper is just the job for holding things steady. I do quite a lot of soldering of small parts, and find this tool really helpful. When trying to hold two components, a HOT soldering iron and solder steady with only two hands it can be challenging. This device makes it easier and faster. A solid steel base and two flexible 'limbs' that are secured by strong magnets and clips that rotate, can hold almost all small components or circuit boards with ease. I don't know how I managed without it!

100% FIRST RATE PRODUCT
I bought the 2 arm version. Superbly engineered and finished. It weighs 635g which makes it very stable. Non slip self adhesive feet are provided, but I prefer to sit it on non slip rubber matting. Perfect tool for use as a soldering aid when working with items that refuse to remain stationary. Money well spent.

It’s just alright
Needed something like this for holding components when soldering PCB’s. Wanted a decent one with plenty of arms but also good strength and no slop in the arms. This product is just alright for my job but I wouldn’t rush to buy again. One of my arms has quite a bit of play and slop in it which is quite annoying when you are trying to get extremely small components to stay in the same place. My biggest hate about this is the fact that the arms screw onto the feet of the stand, I wanted one with magnetic arms so the arms could be moved and taken off for easy storage and that’s my biggest hate with this one. Magnetic arm versions are available but only with two arms which was no use for me. I also find the arms become lose where they screw onto the stand if moved around too much meaning you nearly have to tighten the screws that hold them on after every few adjustments you make when fastening components etc. if this product had magnetic arms I would be a lot more satisfied.

Great little tool
I bought this not to use as a soldering stand but as a holder for Marco photography. I have no doubt it would function well in the workshop as well. The stand is well constructed and thoughtfully packed. The crocodile clips screw into the arms meaning there is a possibility to use the arms with other fixings as well. The magnets are strong and give you the ability to set the arms exactly where needed. A nice touch is the spare items included, you get a spare crocodile clip and a second set of feet for the base. This means you should get a long working life from the stand. Would I by again. Yes.

Arrived quickly and well packaged. Base is quite heavy and adds a lot of stability to the product. Arms are sufficiently rigid to hold your workpiece in place. Very useful and well manufactured tool.

Both Kotto products I purchased for courses have been surprisingly well made for their price point, and shipped quickly. I can fit the Kotto Fume Extractor on the base plate for these helping hands, and have them circle around to hold a PCB directly in front of the fan and filter. I was very skeptical of "helping hands" because most models looked unstable, poor quality. The excellent ones were nearly $100 for something that looked like it wouldn't fit at my workstation, or they would have large shipping costs and customs fees. This one is a relatively small piece of sturdy, powder coated steel with strong magnetic arms and clips with rubber grips, and rubber footpads. Just the right balance of quality and price for my workstation. It's easy to underestimate the difference that a stable hold on a PCB makes until you've had to SMT solder by hand. Kotto's doing an excellent job at what they make; unlike other fume extractors, for example, the Kotto one has enough power to pull fumes from as far as 9 inches away. If, like me, you're trawling amazon for a good deal, this is one of them.

Klare Empfehlung – einfach gutes, sauberes Arbeiten.
