PS3 to projector and surround sound fix
I installed this amplifier/splitter on the ouput of my PS3 to boost the hdmi signal (sent via a 25 ft cable) to an Epson powerlite projector while simultaneously sending the signal to a 50 inch pansonic plasma tv. Originally I used a non amplified switch to split the hdmi signal between the two devices but I encountered the following problems while using the PS3 to play videos through the projector: 1) lots of sparkle noise on the screen, 2) the projector had difficulty auto sensing the video resolution, 3) because of the weak hdmi signal, the projector caused the PS3 to default the audio "sound settings" to hdmi cable instead of using the optical cable that i normally use to send audio to my surround sound amp (id have to readjust the sound settings each time I used the console), and 4)while watching a movie on the projector, the video randomly dropped out for several seconds but the audio would continue. These problems only appeared while using the projector. To fix these problems, I Connected a short hdmi cable from the console to the input of this amplified splitter and connected a longer cable to each device. As expected, all of the problems I had with the projector were instantly remedied and the TV still works fine as usual. The projector quickly autosenses the 1080p signal with no sparkles, it doesnt drop video anymore, and I no longer have readjust the sound settings on the console to use my surround sound. The technical explanation, in a perfect world, digital signals either work well or they don't work at all, with no in between. (Which explains why a digital signal will always be crystal clear if its working.) But the exception is when the signal degrades (due to cable length, corrosion, etc..), to a point where it toggles above and below the digital threshold between on and off. When this happens you get the symptoms already mentioned. And sometimes as it toggles, youll also get pixelation in the video. The amplifier raises the signal above the threshold so the signal never reaches the "off "point.

Did not work
Seems well made for the price but could not get it to successfully split the signal. Returned it and bought something extremely similar from another company that worked fine. May have just received a dud.

Hmm, my experience with this product had been great. I can watch now cable box in two televisions with out renting the extra one. And picture quality is flawless. The same as if you connect direct to cable box in 1 tv, but with this you have it in 2. You need obviously the HDMI cables but Amazon offers good deals on those. And is a 1 time purchase vs renting cable box that are forever.Good money saver. REMEMBER this will copy the same image simultaneously on 2 TVs. When you change channel in 1 tv the other will change too. So that's that. For me it's not an issue I kind like it because my 2 TVs aren't that far one in dining room other in kitchen and when 2 TVs being on in same channel sound doesn't interfere with each other. Also REMEMBER one of the HDMI cable for TVs probably should be longer than the other depending on TVs distance. Take measurements to know cable length.

Double Vision!
So far this splitter is working well. It's connecting my incoming cable to a monitor at my computer and the TV in my living room. The pictures are synced and the picture quality is flawless. It gets the job done at a decent price and I'm satisfied with the purchaseFor the consumers that care the box gets a little warm and has a bright blue LED that can't be disabled so you'll want to hide it somewhere.

Works great. Simple Plug-and-play functionality.
Works great. I use this to split the output from my security camera system to two monitors. Simple, plug-and-play functionality. I like the blue indicator light that shows up when a monitor connection is detected on the other end of the HDMI cable.
