Great economical cooker
I have had a Remoska in the UK for many years, using it both at home and in the caravan, and would not be without it. My daughter who lives in Texas said she would like one, and this seemed the nearest equivalent available in the USA. She is delighted with it. Although it is somewhat smaller than mine, she says it is perfect for meals for a family of 4.

What fun!
This gadget works and consumes little electricity. It is great for baking and allows me to do so when in my van, using only a solar generator battery bank. It cleans easily and I like the see-through lid.

great buy for singles or couples
I had an older version of the Czech cooker (called the Remoska) when I lived in the UK. It was the same, except that it didn't have a variable heat control or a lid holder. UK electrical domestic appliances aren't compatible with US power supply, so I had to leave it behind, and for the last 4 years I've been searching for one in the USA. It sounds an unlikely promise that you can cook such a wide range of foods in this cooker, but it really is true, and the fuel costs are absolutely minimal. It heats up quickly and cleans very easily (sometimes with just the wipe of a piece of kitchen paper). The window in the lid allows easy progress checking, and there's no steam or odor escape. When not in use it's light and compact enough to be put away, needing only the space for a large pot or casserole dish, but I use mine so much that it stays on the counter top. I've used my Czech cooker for baked and boulangere potatoes, fish, casseroles, chops, chicken breasts, shepherds pie, frozen French fries, processed goods such as pot pies and burgers, French sticks (in pieces) and bread rolls. The cooker preserves moisture in foods and gives much better results than my toaster oven for delicate foods or ones with a tendency to dry out. Unlike crock pots, the cooking time is the same as for conventional ovens and doesn't need lengthy preheating. The heat comes from the lid rather than underneath, so foods much as cheese toppings get a nice light browning that can't be achieved in a microwave. Although the purchase price is more than your average toaster oven I'd recommend this product to anyone who cooks small quantities, or has a small kitchen or a camper van. I'm anticipating getting many years of service from it, which will more than justify the outlay. My sister in the UK still uses my old one daily, and it's still in perfect working order after ten years.

I was disappointed when this arrived because the pot would not sit in the rack correctly. I ask for a refund and the people were not that helpful and ask if could adjust the screws in the handles. That was not the problem. My husband took the pot rack to the workshop and squeezed the legs of the rack closer together and the pot sat in it like it should. I have only used it once, but it worked wonderfully. I cooked salmon from the book that came with it and it was real tasty. I think since the rack fits the pot now, I will be using it more.

Useful and versatile
Roast chicken, cakes, frittatas -- i am just beginning to experiment and so far everything has worked very well. I often cook for myself, andI find that it is easy to cook a complete meal in this cooker without heating up the oven.

Great Cooker
Before buying this I read reviews everywhere and they were outstanding. Received it and have used it every day for 8 days. Some recipes might need to be stirred, others you can just walk away and not have burned food. Clean-up is a snap. Be careful when removing lid it's hot, love the lid stand..I think every home ought to have this cooker..

Burned/shorted out
When I used it the thermostat/power plug began spewing smoke and shorted out. The power prong appeared to have melted as did the plastic prongs. Basically, the item shorted out and I have returned it which is unfortunate since I loved the table top stove I used when I lived overseas.

useful for couple or single use
I have used my remoska several times now; i have been pleased with the results. I bought it because i do not have an oven - just a cook top and micro! Scones, roast veg [carrots parsnips pots onions] baked/grilled [almost like grilling them cos the heat is from above] fresh tomatoes, orange cake [from the remoska recipe book] and fish. when I baked the cake and scones I plugged in the heating unit to warm it up for a couple of minutes before I was finished blending - instructions do warn about heating an empty pan! this just seemed to make sense to me. temperature gauge? basically low, med, hot. i start most things on hot ... and just keep checking. the scones and cakes needed to be covered with a piece of foil [cut round like a doily with about a 2-3" hole cut out of the middle - this covers the outer edges of the cake which are directly under the heating element which is concealed around the edge of the lid] I think that the highest heat setting is about 400*.

Excellent Remoska.

You can cook chicken and vegetables all at once. You don't need to use oil. It's much healthier. Works amazingly well.
