Live 1977

Though I would take a punt on this and wasn’t disappointed.It’s a great FM broadcast quality concert from 1977 and the band are young and on fire .I was lucky enough to see them in 77, if you weren’t get this . Highly recommendedPS the red vinyl is nice as well

This is a quality version of the infamous Die Laughing show. The vinyl is thick! High quality. The sound is a direct board show that is mixed well. The playing on this is great, and Dave is iconic as usual. I highly recommend this live record for any VH fan, or really any rock guitar fan. Eddie was amazing and this show highlights his fire very well.

Diese Aufnahme ist historisch wertvoll, denn sie beantwortet schonungslos eine lang gehegte Frage: Konnte David Lee Roth jemals wirklich singen? Diesem (klangmäßig gar nicht mal schlechten) Radio Broadcast zu folgen: Nein, er konnte es nie. Er ist einfach tone-deaf, Töne getroffen werden immer nur dann, wenn Michael Anthony bei den Refrains mit einsteigt. DLR is truly hopeless.Hört man diesen Gig einer noch jungen und frischen Van Halen, glaubt man sofort, dass Ted Templeman für das Van Halen debut DLR jedes Wort separat einsingen ließ, nach der Devise trial and error und die besten Versionen dann zusammenflickte.Ich bin nicht zwanghaft, es gibt Sänger, die nehmen es mit der Tonhöhe nicht so genau: Paul Weller, Ian Hunter oder Lucinda Williams - und das ist in Grenzen ok, it's only rock'n'roll. Aber DLR war jenseits von gut und böse, William Shatner Niveau. Fazit: Ein Stern (und der ist noch zuviel) für den grottigen Gesang, drei Sterne+ für die Klangqualität der Instrumente.

This is a great live album. I knew that the sound quality would be a little off. They always are with these older dates unofficial releases.This does sound really good on this recording. It a piece of Van Halen history to have in your collection.

Now read all of this....These tracks do appear on some other Van Halen CD's BUT these are the best quality I have heard!! Think Pasadena Party Slammers and Civic Pride....if you like those tunes this is the BEST quality I have ever heard of these tracks...you need to get this recording...you can hear everything.....perfectly....I was impressed from start to finish....
