This product likely has PTFE. Teflon was DuPonts brand name for PTFE. When their patents expired, many companies chose different names for PTFE. PFOA was originally used to manufacture PTFE but now it’s illegal to sell PFOA in the US, so manufacturers replaced it with something else from a similar PFOA family that can carry similar health issues. In virtually all cases when manufacturers claim something is PFOA free, it means the nonstick product is PTFE. (Especially when the manufacturer doesn’t publish it). You cannot repair the boyfriend, but a new pan is cheaper and will last longer.

Q: Handle comes loose - it's almost as if the screw just reaches but won't 'set' in the bracket. anyone else? solution? otherwise i love the skillet.

I have 2 pans, haven't had that problem, there fairly new. Sounds like there might have been another piece behind the bracket? I would take the screw to Home Depot or Lowe's and tell them you want the same screw 1/8 to 1/4 inch longer and see if that works. I have done that with older pots and it works and for .99cents it's worth trying. An old hangman told me 40+ years ago "Never pick up a pot or pan with something in them, another pot, dishes, etc. by the handle." Went through several pots and pans until his advise sunk in..

ive had mine for a little over a year and it has started to lose its non stick ability even when i use spray/butter or oil.
