Nieces bday wish
So, hubby's niece wanted a sword for her 6th birthday, and the Funcle was happy to oblige. Bonus because it was exactly like her Karate Sensei's practice sword, so she was over the moon.

Excellent
This is an excellent training weapon. Cheap, sturdy, and balanced well enough. Great for teaching children iadio pre apocalypse. Scabbard is surprisingly sturdy as well.

Almost perfect but...
The sword itself is just about perfect, (I wish the sageo was actual length so you could practice tieing it properly but that's not really an issue)The only real issue with the sword is the rubber ring that goes on what would be the habaki to keep the plastic tsuba in place. This prevents the sword from sheathing fully which allows it to fall from the saya extremely easily during wear or handling. This could easily be fixed by just installing a small set screw or something I imagine, but this is the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars. The saya is light and thin but otherwise is actually surprisingly good enough for practicing Iaido.

Good for practice
Thick, and heavy. Similar specs a true wakizashi sword.

This thing is tough!
I got this for my child since he was prone to taking my decorative swords off of the stand to play with them. This thing has held up great. He wacks trees, and weeds.....his sister. It's very sturdy and exactly what I was looking for.

Good Sword. Awful Scabbard.
I bought this for my 8yo daughter to safely practice kobudo for a karate tournament.Sword is good. Solid constuction. Good grip texture. Good weight. Good balance (for a non-steel sword). No obvious mold-lines or spurs. Long enough to practice with, but short enough to draw correctly.Rubber handguard retention band is decent. It wont last too long, but im going to epoxy the handguard in place anyway.Scabbard is Halloween-store garbage. Thin, noisy, and zero sword retention if tilted below horizontal (as while bowing).
