Others have said it! I don't think the solar cells are efficient enough to charge the battery in any reasonable amount of time. I do like the fact that it is lightweight. Works good as a backup if you charge it with a USB cable. But that kind of defeats the purpose of a "solar" charger!

I've been very frustrated since receiving this item because it seems to work but can't get it to charge my phone. I finally used one of my own cords and presto! Will come in very handy camping and while on vacation!

It worked at first. I only used it once but loved it. Now it won't take a charge. So sad. I loved the whole idea of solar charging. And, of course, it is past the return deadline.

I have had the solar powered charger now for a few weeks and I love it! It has saved me many times because of how portable and easy it is to use. I would highly recommend this product to everyone!

I purchased this solar charger because I do a lot of camping, and I don't want to always have to to go back to my car to charge my phone. I was looking for something that I could pre-charge in the sun and then keep handy in my camping bucket should I need it. Also I wanted something that was small so that I didn't have to have something bulky in my camping bucket. Upon searching on Amazon I found the CSJ Sound Best Solar iPhone Charger.There are lots of features that I really like about this solar charger. Although out of the box it took about a full day sitting in a sunny window to bring up to a full charge, after using it it really recharged quickly. I wasn't expecting to receive the little book light, but it has proven to be really handy to have as an extra light in the tent at night - it isn't too bright but still bright enough to read by. Also I liked having all of the cord options, I was able to charge my old iTouch and also my phone.I took my phone down to zero to see how quickly this little solar charger would charge my phone. With the charger was at 100% and my phone at 0, it took about an hour and fifteen minutes to get the phone from dead up to full charge. That in itself is the perfect and only reason to have this charger! It totally did it's job.It is nice and compact and has a little carrying case that fits the three way charging cord. There weren't any instructions, but there are a bunch of YouTube videos from CSJ Sound to direct you if you have any questions. Which is fine for me, less to throw away!Overall I am very happy with this little charger. Wow! I really appreciate my CSJ Sound Best Solar Powered iPhone Charger! I was inspired to purchase this item when my sister, who lives in Florida, had recently experienced a power outage due to a nearby tornado. Because she had a solar-powered phone charger, she was able to charge her phone despite not having electricity. It got me thinking about having a backup charger of some sort, as well as how much more environmentally friendly a solar-charger would be.This item comes with a few different pieces:First, and foremost is the charger (the power bank) itself. It is about the size of a basic smart phone, five inches long, 2.75 inches wide, and 3/4 inches deep/tall/thick, small enough to fit into a pocket or purse, the pocket of a bag, or carry in your hands. It has two USB ports, so you can plug in a second micro USB cord and charge even more items at the same time.Likewise, it comes with the perfect little bag to carry it in. The bag is a soft, velvety material with a pocket for a driver's license, a key, or for the other pieces that come with the power bank. It has a cute little drawstring at the top to close it off nicely. Just a nice little added bonus.It also comes with a basic micro USB cord. The cord has a basic USB plug for it to connect to the power bank. On the other side, it contains three separate ends: one for the older iPods, iPads, and iPhones, one for the current iPads and iPhones, and one for Android devices. Whether you have an iPhone or an Android, this charger can work for you!Another part of this whole set is an LED flashlight. If plugged into the power bank, and if the power bank is charged and turned on (or in the sun and in turned on), the flashlight lights up. It is very bright despite its size. It also bends, a nice quality to have in a flashlight. Though we haven't had a power outage, I have found the LED flashlight to be a nice reading light late at night when the rest of the house has gone to bed.The CSJ Sound Best Solar Powered Charger can be charged via the USB if the sun decided to not show up or if you want to charge it, say, overnight. I like that it gives the option of charging both ways because you just can't always depend on the sun. However, my favorite thing to do is to have it in the car, set out in the sun while I am work all day so that it is ready to do the charging of my phone once I get it. Works like a charm!The charger comes with a manual. Though the print is small, what I did is take pictures of the directions and then zoom in. Truthfully, though, the directions were not really very necessary. The device is not that complex to use.Finally, as far as dependability goes, I have found that this charger works quite efficiently. My smaller devices (phones) charge especially quickly, even with two of them on at the same time. Bigger devices, such as iPads, seem to struggle with charging quickly. However, they do charge, just at a slower rate than the small devices. Another positive aspect about the CSJ Sound Best Solar Powered iPhone Charger is that it is easy to use and turns off automatically when not in use, after about thirty seconds. This charger would be a great gift for anyone who has a smart phone who is environmentally-conscious and likes to be outside or in the sun. This is TOTALLY AWESOME. The CSJ Sound Best Solar I phone charger is the BOMB. For people in the southern states who deal with hurricanes or Earth quakes. This is a must item. You put it out side and it can charge your phone, your Ipad, a flash light (which by the way it comes with one) cameras and anything else you can plug in a USB cord to power up. The other really cool thing you can charge 2 things at once. It's like having a second phone that comes in it's own bag so it portable. You can take it to out door concerts like the Tortuga one in Florida and not have to worry by the end of the day running out of battery....you have it with you. It also a great way to meet people. I was eating lunch and I had someone ask me about it for those of you looking to start a conversation.If you don't have sun no problem you can plug it in and charge it via the USB cable and your ready to go. You get all the cables you need, a flash light, a small manual, and a card with a link to watch a video on how to use it.
