IOTC Brass Pull-Out Telescope

My kid loved it as part of his pirate collection. For the price the quality is great. The wooden box is done very well with real brass inlay. Can't beat this for the price. 5 stars.

I bought four of these for the game - Merchants and Marauders. I needed the box to serve as treasure chests for storing the game's coins, plus it looks cool!The box looks great and also big enough to hold all the coins you may acquire during the game, but also small enough to keep with the game's scale and aesthetic. Be very gently when handling the box. The lid part is quite fragile and doesn't open all the way. This is due to how the lid is hinged to the main body. It opens enough to take the telescope in or out. This is in keeping with the design choice to have the hinge carefully hidden away from view.The brass telescope works and looks cool - the way you can extend and collapse it. Don't expect too much with the magnification, though. It is mainly a novelty item after all.Overall, it's a great item - inexpensive, maritime-thematic, and like all things - needs to be handled with care... tender loving care. Collectors will understand.

I ordered three of these and one arrived with a broken lens. The boxes were well made and sturdy. The brass inlay on the box is a nice touch. The lids opened completely. The telescopes did magnify, maybe 8x. Make note that the telescopes are only about six inches long fully extended. We are giving these away as prizes for the best pirate costume at an event we are holding. At $4 each, they are very attractively priced. I would not pay more then $6-7 for them with free shipping however.

I was weary of this at first but I love it!!!an its exaclty what i wanted and will be perfect for the project i have in mind!

This broke within the first few days and has been thrown out since. The glass is what broke and I'm so thankful that it did not hurt my son while playing with it. It should NOT be advertised as a child's toy. It is a safety hazard.
