You will need Smart Card Utility
To use this for any government cac or pid you will need to purchase a license for Smart Card Utility for an additional fee. After that this works well.

Military personnel PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BUY!!!
This one doesn’t come with the software key to use the (smart card utility) app Bluetooth feature on IOS devices. the app itself will allow you to use your military CAC to access common military CAC enabled websites. So save your self the time and head over to TwoCanoes.com. Overall the product is good you can still use the regular feature of plugging it in to a computer with the usb cable it comes with and use it as is… but I personally hate having to go to a computer to login when I can just simply use my iPad/iPhone.

Does not detect the PIV card.
Does not detect the PIV card type A making it useless. Very disappointed with the product.Follow up 4/24/21 I reached out to Amazon customer service and they put me in contact with Feitian. I explained the issue with the smart card reader and they immediately issued me a full refund. Will try my luck with another Feitian product and hopefully no more issues moving forward.
