/ LiftMaster / Craftsman 4228 Replacement Battery for Battery Backup Equipped Garage Door Openers (Packaging May Vary) Medium

This worked perfectly with my Chamberlain garage door opener. Installation was very easy. I used a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw on the battery cover plate on the left side of the opener, unplugged the black wire and red wire, inserted the new battery, then reconnected the red wire and black wire. It works perfectly. I did need to press the outlet reset button on my garage wall, but that is due to how my house is wired and likely will not be necessary for most homes. The sticker date on the replacement battery shows 10/13/2025 and today’s date is 12/21/2025, so the battery is very fresh. For the price and quality, this is a no brainer purchase. I ordered it last night and it arrived by 8am the next morning. It appears older reviews had issues, but they likely purchased earlier versions. Recent reviews and my experience have been excellent. This battery is identical to the OEM version and even arrived in an OEM Chamberlain box. Very happy I did not need to call a repair technician and saved money by fixing this myself.

We have a Liftmaster garage door opener. The back up battery went out -- I didn't even realize that it had a backup. Anyhow, this exact same battery made by the exact same company is ridiculously expensive. This one is the exact same at less than half the price! I looked at getting a no-name battery that had the same specs and was even more affordable, but that the negative and positive connections on these Liftmaster/Chamberlain/Craftsman openers are different sizes. Probably designed that way to make sure folks don't install it backwards. Paying a little more for the Chamberlain branded battery is worth it to make sure the connections are solid. I installed in in less than 10 minutes, including getting the ladder out and set up.
