Great addition to any home ice maker.

Cut ice make line in back of fridge and connected this filter to it and after a day the ice is crystal clear bright white and tastes better. It works and amazed on how it seals with no leaks. The kit comes with everything you need with step by step instructions. I had to buy new water line as the existing line was old and the inside may have swelled because the tiny brass inserts that come with the kit would not slide into the tubing. New 1/8” line and it worked. I used no thread tape or flux or anything to connect this filter. It seals automatically as is. You will need a couple set of pliers or small channel locks to tighten the ends to the filter just enough to seal. Extra hand to hold the filter in place while mounting it to back of fridge is suggested for ease and to eliminate any tension on the water lines. It’s been a month and the ice is bright white and or crystal clear. This filter has a 2500+ gallon life I think and that’s good in my case for about a year. Hope this helps.

Like others have said, i didn't receive the 2,500 gallon one but rather the 1,500 gallon filter. This replaced the one for my Whirlpool refrigerator that i could no longer purchase. The flow rate on this was much better than any of the Whirlpool ones i had used. it was very easy to install and took about 15 minutes. It would be nice it they included some sort of clamp or bracket to secure it, but a tie wrap worked just fine for me

This ice-maker filter attached to the ice maker supply lines with ease. All necessary fittings are included with the uiit. Using the Lasco bracket (not included) I mounted it on the wall next to the left side of the fridge and it takes up very little space. It can be mounted either horizontally or vertical. The difference in the taste of the ice is amazing. Prior to the installation the cubes had a stale taste that transferred to the beverages, now there is no taste. The taste of the first two or three trays of ice after the installation had me concerned because the bad taste was there. I realized that the taste was from the residual water in the lines attached to the fridge, once they cleared, all was ok. This filter was a little pricey, but if it lasts the 1500 gallons claimed on the filter, it will be worth the price.

This filter was exactly what we needed. A new fridge for the basement bar was purchased and the ice maker was a much needed feature. The issue was our ice caused drinks to taste terrible. The fridge has no filter so adding this where the ice maker line connected to the fridge was needed. Our water went from tasting and smelling like a strong chlorine water to having no smell or taste at all. Now the cubes do their job... make the drink cold without effecting taste. This was a 10 minute install tops and after discarding the first full batch of ice we were good to go!

Purchased this while installing an ice maker. We have very distasteful, hard water. I got a water softener for the house to help with hardness and added this inline filter for ice cubes. Follow the instructions to wash out the filter before installing. Also, we ran several cycles of ice making and threw the cubes out. First cubes still had funny taste. But after 5 or 6 runs with ice, the filter gave us great tasting ice cubes. Easy to install and great directions on the website. Worth the money for great tasting ice.

Great filter. Was very easy to install. The brass fittings included allowed me to attach the water supply line directly without any modifications needed. No leaks and the filter doesn't seem to reduce line pressure. After attaching the filter I flushed about 2 galllons through it to remove carbon dust before attaching it to the fridge. My refrigerator didn't have a built in filter and this allowed me to supply filtered water to the ice maker and the water dispenser in the door. The filter does a great job, water tastes just like bottled water. I also purchased the mount to attach it securely to the wall.
